think of the extreme case of snow blades - you can spin a 1260 on a 15 foot table. But try landing them a little off balance or on a really big jump - much less stable and more likely to fall. I'm 5'10 and got the 171 line octolands. Oddly enough they measure out to be the same length as my dads 177 volkl bridges. They come up to eye level on me, so maybe some measurement is off. Anyway, if you want more of a rail ski for tucked spins on/off, go shorter. For a more stable, big hit ski, go with the 178's. And either way, measure out 7 cm's and you will see its not much difference. Hope that helped.
