Replying to Sean Penn's Comment at the Oscars

I think this it was a good summarization of the current situation and takes a lot of balls to say in a situation like that.  I'm glad to have met the man on multiple occasions.

Excerpt from his acceptance speach: “For those who saw the signs of hatred as our cars drove in tonight, I think that it is a good time for those who voted for the ban against gay marriage to sit and reflect and anticipate their great shame and the shame in their grandchildren’s eyes if they continue that way of support. We’ve got to have equal rights for everyone.”

How can you say that a group of people shouldn't have the same rights as you just because they are different? It's just as bad as not letting blacks eat at the same restaurants as whites and it's only a problem because of an outdated book (the bible).
