Mission Decorate.
I
started this with only these stickers. Kinda lame no decals.
The Idea: Send out loads of email and S.A.S.E.s and fill out the online things and document how long it takes and what I get. I will also try to tell you exactly how and when I sent everything and what you might have to do to end up with my results, if you want. Based on the dates I have posted you can calculate how long it took each company.
Cost: $18 for stamps. $3.44 for 25 large envelopes. $19 (1 $5 and 8 super crisp $2 dollar bills(available form the bank)) for some of the companies that I like more or companies that wont send anything without money. Total = $40.44. So far 2 companies sent my money back so $36.44.
Useful Items: Packing tape, Accurate postal scale, Paper cutter, premade address stickers (saved my writing my address 48 times), Envelopes.
Abilities: Licking, cutting, typing, sucking up, writing.
Time: Maybe 5 hours of emailing and preparation. Then … THE WAIT. Oh and 30 seconds to stick down each sticker after. And 2 hours to make this post.
Rules: Do not mention me or that you heard about this one dude or any of that crap if you are talking to a company.
2/2/09 Attack 1: Sent out 23 emails to random companies that I could find in this cult. Also filled out 3 or 4 on line things.
My official email template. I customized this a little for each company. Note: don't copy mine exactly. Also I took a picture of the back of my car and edited it.
Hi (Insert Company Here),
I am a skier from Arizona and love your company! That is right Arizona. There is more two humped camels in this state then there are skiers. The point of the email is to ask if you would be kind enough to send me some stickers (or anything would be madly appreciated) so I can represent your company and skiers as a whole. The idea is to place the stickers on the back of my car (pictured). As you may have noticed my car is kinda noticeable. Also my helmet is bare at the moment and could use a little touch up.
If you can't send me any that's cool, Is there another way?
(My address)
Thanks for your time
Alex Gaynor
2/6/09
: Received stickers from Orage. Resulted from attack 1. They never
replied they just sent. Ruler is 18 inches long
2/7/09: Received stickers from Evo Gear. From attack 1. they replied to the email saying the stickers were on the way.
2/7/09 Attack 2: Sent out 14 SASEs. Would have done more but I ran out of stamps. $4 in Level 1. $2 ea in Amplid and Von Zipper.
My official Letter: I fit 3 on a page. I also customized this a little for each company.

I included an envelope with my address and a stamp on it to get it back.
Thanks a bunch for you time,
Alex Gaynor
For this I folded up a big envelope and put it inside the smaller envelope and that turned out to be a perfect 1 oz. which is one stamp.
2/9/09 Attack 3: Sent out 8 more sases. $2 in Armada. $2 in moment. $2 in K2
2/9/09 Skullcandy: Sent out same envelopes except I put 2 stamps on the big one inside. I also included a hand written poem (Which is the big “secret” in the Skullcandy thread) probably the best piece of poetry I ever have made but still gay so I won't share that, and a crisp $5.
The Skullcandy Letter:
Hey Skullcandy,
I ...um... LOVE Skullcandy.
I have some INKd buds and TIs and Hesh's (my favorite). i also have skullcandy tune ups in my giro shiv helmet. I also bought a set of icons (mix) but they broke. I returned them to the store and it was all good... never got around to buying more.
I wore the Heshs to school once but my chemistry teacher flipped, and took them away for the day. wasn't happy.
Anyways the point of the letter was because I was looking for some Skullcandy stickers to decorate my car a little. I have a Mitsubishi eclipse too so people will see them.
I have also seen some super sick Skullcandy bandannas out there.
Any swag you guys might have for me would definitely be appreciated. I would be stoked beyond belief.
I also included a poem I wrote in class when I was bored the other day, and a little cash.
Thanks for your time,
Alex
PS: I saw some of your goods at the Ski Trade Show. Those are off the hook.
2/9/09: Nike (Stingy but super sick), Obermeyer (Amazing), More Evo, Nordica. All from the emails (Attack 1).
I guess I filled out a form on the Evo site and I emailed a different guy and they sent me 2 loads of stickers. The email got me stickers in like days, but the customer service got me more and a smith sticker.
Also
I highly doubt anyone else will get the same hook up from Obermeyer,
I had a long chat with a super cool dude and at first he said he
didn't have any left. But he talked to his boss and they found these
super dope ones. Also, please do me a favor and do not mention me, or
that you heard about something. Just pretend you didn't know
anything.
Are those 18” stickers?????? Yes they are!!! But they are weird. You put them on the inside of a window, you can also move them I guess. They don't stick with sticky, but with static or something else.... And they kinda peel off.
2/12/09: Got my first sase back(Attack 2). Came from Powder magazine. Super sick 13 stickers and an XL slim fit tee.
2/16/09: Checked mail 7 times before realizing it was president's day and that I wasn't getting any
2/17/09: Got my letter to Salomon back with the address
Salomon USA
Attn: Sticker Guru
2030 Lincoln Ave.
Ogden, UT 84401
Don't send it to that address. They also charged me an extra 41 cents
Also I got stickers from Skullcandy (attack 3), Volkl/Marker, Dakine, and Poor Boyz Productions. Almost all the Skullcandy are decals, the ones you cant see are just white. The top 2 PBP are decals, the Marker/ Volkl ones that you can't see are white decals, and Dakine sent me my $2 back.
2/20/09:
Received some from Von Zipper. Loads of little ones, they also sent
my $2 back. And they sent me a little glasses wiper thingy with a motocross guy on it I think, its at the bottom there.
2/21/09:
Got K2 from attack 3 with $2 in it. Stuck cross hairs on car within 2
minutes of receiving it. The stars int the flag are little K2 symbols.
2/23/09: Got Matchstick productions. Lots with no money. Also got 4FRNT just from the email. Only 3 stickers but with hardly any effort.
OK- So that is the story so far, I am
still to receive some of the ones I am really looking forward to, and
that I put money in. I think Amplid will be good. I will be updating
every time I get more. I will answer any questions you have if they
weren't already answered. I know some people have been curious about
the envelopes and costs and stuff. I didn't know before I began.
Advice: Write "DO NOT BEND" on each envelope to come back to you. They bent my K2 Cross Hairs.
Feel free to ship me some Karma. Kinda new to this and I feel this is karma worthy.
And I want to trade for NS stickers! I very well may have already used the good ones.
To put them in perspective
Some of the good ones I already used
