Parents friends adding you on facebook?

One of my dads friends added me on facebook and I don't want to accept them because it could give my dad a medium to stalk me with,not that I do stupid things and talk about them on facebook. I feel like if I don't accept this stranger I have never met my dad may yell at me. On the flip side it could be some woman he pissed off and she is trying to stalk my dad through me.
anyone else have this problem and think its kinda creepy?

Does it tell them if I slap a big fat ignore on their thing?
I don't like checking it and seeing +1 new request and it being the same 30 year old whore.

if your dad gets pissed say you dont except people you dont recognize because it may be a crazy stalker.

hahah my parents and family members and their friends and a few of my old high school teachers have facebook. I have no problems with denying those requests, its creepy.

I wouldn't accept.

I don't accept from anyone I don't know.  I would if they got rid of that homepage live feed thing that tells you what everyone else is up to.  Thats just weird and allows for 'facebook stalking'.  Why do I care if my friends got tagged in a picture or wrote on someone elses wall.  If it doesn't involve me, it shouldn't show up.

And it doesn't send them a message like _____ denied your request, it just doesn't make you friends, like before. 

I wouldn't accept either of my parent's requests if they made one.  Tell your dad its non of his goddamn business who you accept and don't accept.

I'd accept my parents.

To be honest, there shouldn't be anything that you wouldn't want your parents to see on there. I untag myself in all of the pictures that have alcohol in them and I delete stupid wall posts.

I'm a business major, and many business use Facebook to screen applicants and stuff like that. I was at a career panel recently, and this guy told us a story about his co-worker. He was at work setting up some event and he requested time off for a family emergency. He was given approval, and the next day he had pictures of himself in Vegas at a bachelor party.

Needless to say, his company didn't get the contract for the event, and he was fired.

Pretty much everything I was going to say. I'm a management major and I'm not naive enough to keep stupid pics about me on Facebook for long. Status updates are different considering they'll be pretty much lost forever in Facebook in a few days.

With that said I really couldn't care less about what my family thinks of me. I'm my own person and quite happy about who I am. I've added my mom, an aunt, a few cousins that are older and have families and things. They probably see my statuses about marijuana and drinking and shrug them off. They might not like some things I do, but it's not like I'm going to hide it from them like I'm ashamed.

Common makes a really good point.  Nowadays, absolutely anything on the internet is public knowledge.  Not only that, anything you say or are involved with on the internet will stay there indefinitely.   

As to the issue of inviting your parents friends, I would not.  Although there may be no malice intended, it is really inappropriate.

My mum added me on facebook. My cousin mjade it so she doesn't know how to use it. I just went on hers and stopped updates of what i'm doing. Worked well so far.

i have my dad added. only thing he can't see is my status (they would probably offend him). some of his friends/family friends can see everything.
but it's not like i have child porn on my facebook, so i don't care.

This couldn't be any more true. I wouldn't put anything on facebook that you wouldn't want your boss, pastor, parents, etc. to see.

I work in Finance for a Fortune 500 company and my boss has me research any potential employees(on FB,Myspace, etc.) before they are hired. (I guess that's what I get for being a young employee.) It's super gay, but its the world we live in.

My suggestion - keep your pictures on lock down or it can come back to bite you in the ass. Don't put anything up there that you wouldn't want on the front page of the paper.

hey man i was kind of in the same situation. Except my dad has no idea what the whole profile limiting thing was and said if i want a facebook he needs the password. He thought that it would give him a great in into my personal life. Fuck, i think its rediculous that they can see my grades online, so this is why i have no facebook.

Both of my parents do, and my 12 yearold brother does too, i think. I tend not to worry about untagging my name in pictures because i dont let people take pictures of me when i am doing something illegal. The last time i was in the principals office (im 15 yo) i saw this fat fucking folder called facebook. Last year a couple kids lost captaincy because the had a bunch of pics up on their facebook of them drinking. Fuck that shit, Facebook now just seems to me like asking for trouble.

Its not that I would post pictures of me doing stupid or write something about me doing something bad. Its that my dad would literally look at my friends and screen them. He would probably look at their profile pictures and judge them and then ask me about them. He is critical of everything in my life. I told him I liked rap music and he assumed that I had found a new group of druggie friends because my interests changed.
I don't like giving people like my dad a lot of personal insight to my life because they just ask nosy questions.

I got pretty much my whole family plus friends haha!
And a grandma included ha.
I dont really mind to be honest, but i guess its because i'm from Denmark not from the US.
So we have different ''values'' about stuff like that.
