Well today I learned that a friend of a friend of mine broke his 5th and 6th vertibrae skiing. Good skiier too apparently, I'm not sure what trick he was trying or anything, but he hit a small kicker, nothing even that big, something he had done 1000 times before, and he fell frontwards like onto his head, and rolled over, breaking his vertibrae. I for one know that i've fallen like that at least a few times, it's kind of scary to think that it can happen so easily. Apparently he wasnt going that fast, and not even that high, it just took that little bit of force. Now he is a quadrapalegic for life, well at least a parapalegic, they're trying to perform surgery to regain use of his arms, but they don't know if it will be sucessful. Just a reminder that sometimes there is more than just being good, or progressing, and throwing tricks, keep it safe too guys. It can happen so easily.
