Line vs. armada..

newschoolers seems to be seperated by people who either love line, or love armada.
personally, i like both, but i gunna have to say i like line a bit more.
what about everyone else?

I love both companies but I am a bit biased because Armada's skis are NOT made in China. Austria vs. China. I had a pair of Invaders delam in less then 20 minutes from the tail to the back of the hell piece of the bindings as well. Both make great, amazing products but I feel, in my opinion that Armada takes the cake. Especially with the release of the Alpha1&2, Armada shows that it is committed to being an independent freeski company unlike Line, who is now owned by K2. To give Line a bit piece of credit for their innovations, the Afterbang looks like a very promising ski that will give all other ski companies a run for thier money.

My old sticks were Ar6 181s and they simply put killed almost everything. They are a little bit on the not as light as other park skis side but when it comes to a great ski that can kill it in the park just as hard as the rest of the mountain, the AR6 is your best friend. They hold up well on jumps, jibs, speed cruising and 6" or less of fresh. Very solid ski that I skied for over 2 seasons!

i love my ar6's form last year, they are perfect for everything, the top sheet does chip kind of easily but they are a great park ski and can ski the whole mountain real well.
never have skied lines, although some of my friends have them

I feel armada is a much more exspensive and i skied invaders last year and loved them, they were much more fun to play around but for serious skiing like pow and big jumps i trust armada under my feet. its a little more complicated than that

I love my AR6's as well.

I think my issue with line is that when they first started (a long time ago), they were making skiboards and park specific skis. Back then I just got this image that they weren't serious skis and were just for park. Obviously, this is very different now! I've never skied a pair of lines but it seems like they make sick stuff at reasonable prices!! I just don't know if I would ever buy a pair, but I'd definitely like to demo them at some point!

i have been riding armadas for the past few seasons and i love every pair i have had.  i rode lines before that and i kept breaking my 1260's.  so ya i like armada more

i skied line for the past two seasons and loved them, but next year i'm hoping to buy the prophets 100 and try out the ar6.  i also want to get off my rossi only binding streak, and try markers, peace

LINE is inexpensive and they are sick. when people judge the quality on their pair of invaders thats stupid. invaders are cheep and ment to be a one year use ski. as for more reliable on jumps, rock some chronisc or chronic cryptonites, they kick ass

Yeah, aside from graphics, which are pretty cool, I don't think they are changing that much. I'd have to go look at the catalog again to make sure though.

that was a very idiotic thing to say, don't ya think? you'd rather have skis made in china than austria? austria being the place that traditional skiing was born. Atomic being a company that has been making skis for many decades and has excelled at it for just as long. Austria being part of the EU so you know everything is legit... compared to China where - well, do you know what goes on in China? I don't - and I doubt they'd tell me.

If you can avoid it, you should never buy anything from China.






As for my opinion - I'm all about Armada at this point. their skis are awesome, their customer service is awesome, and I guess their marketing is alright? I don't really care about marketing.

from what i can tell lines park skis are amazingly fun but the durability isn't top notch compared to armada's park skis are a little stiffer and less park-specific (since they have no symetrical ski) but a little more durable. as for pow, it seems like both make great skis, but that line has a bit more experience with the rocker/big mountain ski. that said, the new jj's look sickkkk, but i would still get a pair of bacons first.

Armada is made in America? When did that happen...

As for the skis, I have a pair of Anthems and Pipecleaners and they both work wonders at their own thing. Anthems are a super fun jib ski, lots of rails, butters quirky little tricks. Pipecleaners kick ass in the pipe and off any sized jump, plus they can rip on groomers too. I like the quality and durability of Armada skis more but LINEs are so damn fun.

Its not a vs. its a with.  they both make dope skis, just different skis.
both are great companies that are helping skiing.
I would be stoked on a pair of lines, just like I would be stoked on a pair of armadas.

I don't ski either but I have gear from both. I guess I like line better but thats just because everyone seems to have them and I have skied them. I think I have only rode armadas once.

well the alpha 1 and 2, JJ, and ARG have nothing really special about them accept that their early taper has written dimensions.  Its basically the same thing as the early taper on the bacon and EP Pro, Armada just gave dimensions for the tip and tail and made the tip and tail a bit skinnier. i would save it was inovative by bringing it to a park ski, but i feel that Line has been much more inovative overall. first symmetrical ski, which armada has not made yet, the after bang, butter zones, first real fat ski, and other things like that. these "inovations" may be overlooked because many other companies are now doing the same thing, but Line did it first. I personally have only had Line's, but i must say Armada makes a great ski. the flex is so nice on this years ar6, my next ski may be alpha 1's/2's.

I still have my 04 AR5s with nothing more than rounded edges for spring and early season, I doubt your old Invaders are in good shape.

Hahahaha dude you obviously know nothing about ski construction/design.  Bacons/Ep pros are really not comparable to the JJ/ARG as far as ski construction/taper.  I have skied every one of these skis, and every ski skis differently.
For instance, Bacons vs. the JJ- the Bacon has zero camber, softer flex, sidewall construction.  The JJ has a "w" shape, sidewalll to cap construction, different flex, and 5 dimensions. I personally prefer the JJ by a mile, it is one of the best all around rocker skis out there...if not the best.
You can't even compare the ARG/ EP pro....they are both great pow skis, but completely different in flex and shape. 
Both companies have KILLER line ups right now.  Stating that one is more innovative than another is really hard to say. 
Dude you really don't know what you are talking about....go demo all these skis before you go off comparing/talking about them.
