i wear a large for glove size, what number would that be a 9, 10, or 11.??

Great question.  I wear a large in nearly every brand of glove, and I use a 9 in the Seths, but I've found the Vert Freeride is a tidge on the small side.  I'd recommend the 10.  9 you could fit, but it could be super tight.
