Any Skiers at Bates, Colby or Bowdoin?

Im looking to go to one of these schools maybe cause im a junior in high school. Any advice would be nice. just trying to get a students point of view instead of just reading about them. Im going to visit all three in a few weeks, but unfortunately dont have any time to ski while im up there. Thanks for the help

i dont go to either, but i met a couple skiers from colby who were on thier division 1 alpine team. they were chill as fuck and just so pumped to ski in general, but tehy were mad good. one kid had 27 ussa point as a freshman, which is kinda rediculous. they said they loved the school and the best part was skiing at sugarloaf which is apparently sick on pow days, but it is a racerish mountain in general.

 my bro goes to colby, and im going there next year. i think its the best for skiing. its the closest to sugarloar, which is a nice mountain. its also close to sunday river, which has a good park. But my favorite mtn up there is saddleback. its the most chill mountain ever, super new-england style, very much a locals place. colby is closest to all three (bates may be closer to sunday river, though). dont decide just on skiing though, check all the schools out, try and get a good feel for them. you'll be able to ski about the same at either 3

My good friend runs the ski club at Bowdoin, and i think there is a pretty good group of skiers who goes up regularly. Good school, too.

I don't know if you've narrowed down your choices completely, but if you're looking at Bates, Colby, and Bowdoin you might want to consider Skidmore in Saratoga Springs, NY also. I'm a freshman there and I can ski every weekend at either Stratton, Okemo, West or Gore...

i know a couple kids that go to bowdoin, and i have toured it before. its a fucking sick school. amazing campus, and the best food ever

So i heard about a program where if you want to study engineering, you can go to bates, bowdoin, and colby for three years and take math and physics and chemistry classes for 3 years, then transfer to schools like dartmouth and caltech and columbia. anyone know anything about this? thanks

I am from around the area so I know them pretty well, if you're looking for a college to go to and ski on your own time, they're all great all close to Sunday River (great park), and Sugarloaf (pretty good park, some good EC pow, which isn't really powder. :(

Then there's CVA but I'm pretty sure you would have mentioned that if it was an option.

I go to Colby, or used to at least until they suspended me, those fuckers...but dont mind me, it is a good school.

Now answering your question...at least from what I know from a friend, she transfered to Dartmouth on her junior year and then came back to Colby for senior year, but then spent a 5th year at Dartnouth again to finish the engineering degree.

liam downey is a bates grad, so if you go there you'll probably be as good as him.


but seriously I dont go to any, I know alot of people at Bates and Bowdoin alike, but none of whom who ski. Sick schools with realllll good education.. I ski at SR and the loaf on occasion... you shouldnt have a problem finding people to ski with.

may I ask what the suspension was for?  I toured at all three last week and didn't really like L/A all that much, but Bowdoin and Colby look amazing.  Any chance I could compete on a moguls team?  or would I have to train with the mountain's team?

im pretty sure that none of the schools have mogul teams, i can tell you for certain that colby doesnt.
