Park designer/shaping and pro patrol reqs

For patrol , as far as I know, you are right: OFA Level III or an equivilant wilderness first-aid course. Also, you should have some avy course experience. I was just talking to ski patrol about volunteering and this is what they told me was all that was required. You might need more to be pro, but I think best way in is to start volunteering anyways. ya thanks. i would volunteer, but I'm thinking of taking a year of school next year, but want to get payed (I want to go somewhere like Red or Revy, I think, there will be too many injured and dumb tourists in Whistler next year, so I think I want to avoid having any responsibility there) as I will need to cover my living costs, and hopefully save a little for school.

i doubt just an application will get you any where, it's probably guys that have moved up through the years and have been at the hill for a while and know the general park layout well.  attach a cover letter, this is a given, and let them know why you want to work in the park, and how familiar you are with different features,and tell them about your skiing, and architecture plans, at the least this will make more of an impression than just a resume.  unless you have previous experience from else where with references i doubt you can just land a designer job, i mean everyone on the hill wants that job. 

by the way, other than building some b/c jumps i have zero experience with parks nor have i ever worked for a hill, but since i'm currently unemployed and looking for work i thought i'd share my thoughts.  another thing, like with architecture once you start builiding or designing get a scrap book/portfolio going, one so you have something to show for future employers, two do be a better designer, you can write down what worked and what didn't, dimensions, so on, and use it to build better stuff next year, good luck, peace
