I'll say:
1. BC
2. Japan
3. Alaska (Kind of depends on where you go, so I'll average it)
4. Utah
5. France
6. Colorado (I ski in summit which is terrible, but the western part of Colorado is really good, don't come to Breck/Key/Copper for pow)

Alaska, the whole place is like... covered in snow. The wet coastal snow sticks to fucking everything, then the dry arctic air comes in and sucks out the moisture leaving you with powder covering even the gnarliest terrain.

Then BC.

France is good in the sense that they don't have such strict boundary limitations compared to North AMerican resorts.

having skied in Argentina, New Zealand, Utah, Colorado, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy and France, my top 3 would be Switzerland, Utah and Argentina.

i wouldnt say its the best. but i wouldnt know being its the only pow iv ever ridden.  the one day i got to ride real pow was probly the best day of my life, i rode at BlackJack in Michigan.  through out the day it snowed around 20 inches. from open til close, never stopped snowing.  it was a lot of fun.

Well, Utah claims "greatest snow on Earth". wouldn't want to question their marketing department.

Although I do think that the kootenay's could take their marketing team on.

Haha, we in BC are having a shitty season for sure. If you like riding on week old 10cm dumps then it's great.

Look at the nimbus webisode and tell me that's not epic. They had that last season too, and the season before, etc... I'd say Japan is #1 if you don't mind the culture shock. Personally I would love it.

Isn't Utah having a really good season too?

Snowfall in coastal regions and areas with higher humidity is usually heavier than a similar depth of snowfall in an arid or continental region. Light, dry, low moisture content, is typically 4-7% water content. It is often found in the Rock Mountains of North America and in Hokkaidō, Japan. Studies in the Rocky Mountains have shown that the fluffiest, lowest density, or water-to-snow ratio (0.01 - 0.05) snows typically fall with light winds and temperatures near -9 degrees Celsius (15 degrees Fahrenheit). Hokkaidō, Utah, and So. Colorado have the lowest water contents, but they are so close that the tie breaker is snowfall and vertical, so Utah and Japan beat out CO. Niseko is 2953 but Snowbird is 3240 ft.

It depends on what you want, but if you steep, deep, and light, Utah wins

Yeah, it doesn't matter how light your snow is if the most that falls at one time is 10 cm and these 10 cm storms are like 1 month apart from wach other.  Rocky mountains of alberta suck dick.  But when it is good, it is heavenly.  The happy medium is like eastern/central bc, and just follow the mountains south from there.  All those mountains are dope.

I have had better snow in my experiences in Utah but CO still gets some of the goods.  You just have to know where to go.  This was last Sunday at Vail and the snow was blower.

i wouldnt think that japan, alaska, and british columbia would be some of the best.

true i never thought about the lake affect michigan snow, but thats probably real wet.

and also yeah i forgot to add switzerland and all them.
however, i know nothing about them, so i dont know if they have any powder or not.
other than what was said in this thread haha

Tracked out?  That shit looked fresh to me.  Yeah, there are a few tracks in the snow, but I would hardly call that tracked out.

No, there were some tracks in the snow, but it was some of the deepest and lightest I have skied this season.  POV is hard to tell how the snow is sometimes and the compression quality makes the snow quality difficult to convey.
