What do you like or dislike about your teachers?

Im in university right now and will one day be a teacher so it would be fun to know what you young ppl think about teachers :D I know i will hear some crap but im also hated most of my teachers. But there where also some that i liked for different reasons.

If your easy to understand thats always a plus.  I have so many professors with thick Indian or Italian accents and they're so damn hard to understand.

im in highschool

i love teachers that teach in a fun way. my history teacher teaches through funny clips from youtube, like showing us clips from talledaga nights and then connecting it with history and stuff. he teaches in a really fun way. my physics teacher on the other hand is the most boring person ever, that just lectures all day and we do problems. i know its tougher to teach physics than history but w/e. also crack funny jokes a lot, and understand the kids and how they think. it doesnt hurt to be an absolute fox of a teacher either, like my history teacher last year ;)

the teachers i have the most respect for are those that are mellow enough to joke around with, but a tiny bit strict when it comes to doing work or being quiet because if theyre too mellow people just start taking advantage of them and they might end up having to attempt being super strict and looking like a douche to try and get the kids attention. this teacher i had in high school told us near the end of the year that the way she gained control of the class was on the first day she would pick out the ring leader and just burn him super badly. because once one person starts messing around with the teacher kids who youve never even heard their voice will start too. i also like teachers with their own opinions on stuff and who dont just try to look like a roll model because they usually end up looking like douches

i am in my favourite profs class right now. this is my third class with him and i wish i could take all my clases with him. he is really fun and interactive. we always have about 15 mins where we just talk about movies or plays or music or things of interest. he is REALLY smart (its sociology, and he knows everything about anything i swear) and is really fun to be in class. he threw a tempertantrum because he prefers chalk boards to white boards and his black pen stopped working. it was great. and he is nice and helpful and just fun
my least favourite prof was boring and talked to quitely and it was philosophy so he never got us involved. it was awful. i wanted to kill him and i never went to class

i also like chalk board more than white/smart boards or powerpoint presentations, get the feeling that the teacher/professor is doing somethin for me when the use chalk board. and the chalk bord is way more retro and cool :D

they also have to love their subject. and if the teachers depressed it depresses the whole class. i had this bitch of an english teacher last semeseter who always complained about everything and never smiled while 15 people were sleeping and everyone else was trying hard to stay awake. but i have this insane teacher for humanities this semester whos really into what he does and he adds funny shit to stuff in the text book when hes reading it. and because hes so into it the whole class is into it too. oh and i fucking love class discussions for some reason. not with notes or anything

its usually helpful if they are up on the latest technology and if all they ever talk about is skiing. (its kind of award when they say they cant ski anymore because they cant afford it.)

BAD: my english teacher, who was just recently voted best teacher in PA, teaches our class of juniors in highschool like we are preschoolers. there is a HUGE difference between having fun teaching and just being straight up rediculous, and this bitch has gone way beyond rediculous. i would rather sit through boring lectures like i did all of last year than listen to this crazy bitch who thinks she is at the epitomy of teaching sucess and thinks that we dont know shit about anything. not to mention she is in her late 30s and is married to her former college professor who is in his late 60s. and they have a son... fuckin creepy.

Good: teachers that... treat the students like actual people, hold class discussions, make learning fun, don't take class too seriously, dont mind if you do something other than obediantly sit in your seat paying attention, don't load on useless homework, do give homework that is actually relevant, and are worth looking at. way too many of my teachers are old or fat or a mix of the two. its much easier to focus on some hottie teaching class.

i'll like my teachers a lot more when they actually teach and they do so in an easy-to-comprehend manner. like, one of my teachers just lectured for the entire class. however, i had mad respect for him because i knew he was real smart and the material was interesting (well, kinda to me. history and systems of psychology isn't to most people though). in my opinion, when teachers put powerpoints online and explain them in class in a slow easy way, its the best. i know you can't take everything stupidly slow, but you can't fly through the anatomy of the brain either.

after you give an assisnment or writing piece or something to do in class, dont keep talking. my global studies teacher will give us a writing assignment then talk nonstop while we try to write. i cover up a lot of hateful screams in that class. oh, and connect everything to sex and play games. my literature teacher has all kinds of inside jokes and every wednesday we play balderdash. he has a wall of all the funniest/grossest/most perverted definitions. and give away candy! i love me some tootsie pops in the wee morn!

im in hs. there is this fat short bitch that is the detention supervisor and she thinks she is so fucking important. she is mean and called everyone down. she thinks she runs the school.

i got suspended because of her sorry ass.

i really fucking hate her and she needs to realize she is only a bitch because her life/job sucks. she obviously didnt go to college and thats why shes a detention supervisor. she needs to learn how to not be a fat dumb bitch and she can eat my shit.

CAD teacher does not teach.. just instructs us how to use the program and we are on our own for the most part.. and that is no way to teach..
