Losing faith in BmBw management/parks

So today I check bmbw website to see that the park at bwine is closed becuase the say they're having a rebuild....bummed that i can't ride but stoked at the same time that theres going to be a new setup i go off and do my own thing....well i talk to a friend tonight who said the park was perfectly groomed and untouched from when i left yesterday (monday evening)...yet closed....there wasn't one person in the park from 3 30-close working on that park.....what the hell is with that? what's the point of having it closed if its freshly groomed and untouched but they don't do shit??.... I don't know what i"m trying to get at but i'm just frustrated with this bull shit....and they've run out of excuses for this....ski school is done and they can't say well oh its becuase of the meltdown becuase i know every resort in ohio experienced that weather and they have stayed open while maintaining a decent park

Lack space?  WHAT!  You guys over there at Brandywine have so much open space in the park with no rails filling it up.  Like 2/3 of your rails are sitting in the parking lot.  I ride Alpine Valley and let me tell you about space......we have about 1/4 the amount of space and 1/100th the resources to make a good park.  How about your you guys use those expensive park rakes and your huge amount of rails and make a dope park.  Until then I don't feel like paying 40 dollars to ride the same setup you had in early January.

There are a few guys on your park crew who work though (jea jea Midala) but you guys should have a better park with the resources Bwine has (rails, groomers, park crew, amount of snow).

i do agree about rail set ups this year. they have all kinds of rails laying around everywhere and they dont use them or change anything. i thought the early season rail set up had more choices than what they ended up with. like were those picnic tables considered a good set-up? and what about their wall ride they were raving about in the pre-season, they set it up once and never touch it again? then you go over to the small park and its like a metal scrap yard. theres a pipe sticking out of the ground and a 1 inch wide old piece of railing thats like 3 feet long. WTF? how are you supposed to learn on shit like that? --------but then you go over to mills and they  never run run the #4 chair so if you want to hit the park over there you have to go hike it.  sweet---

Now Brandywine is closed this week Monday through Saturday and is open Sunday for a park only session.  The fuck?

is brandywine having a comp or something this weekend cause i think a saw something on there website about like the brandywine open, but i cant find it now. i want to come up for the weekend if they are having a comp or the park looks good.

i wouldn't waste your time haha...bwine open (funnest event last year) is not happening this year...just small slopestyle at bmills is the word on the street....most likely will not be good...hopefully i'm proven wrong

The dick bags banned my ip from sending them more emails.  I'm also done calling- I know Bart doesn't give 2 shits about anything people calling up have to say.


I pay them for a season pass and they consider anything outside of January to be a bonus?  They are too generous.


They don't care about you or your money unless you show up on a school bus.

That couldn't be more true.  every year they have been open in march!  so why is this year a bonus?
They are only saying that cause now they can just close any day they want and never reopen.  screwing us of that last day:(  As for that park only day i doubt it will happen. they'll just erase it like they did the wine open.  If they do have it it will have the same rails that were falling over this weekend

I really want to make my way up there and find out what is going on...sounds like 10 kinds of hell though. Im trying to get the word out as well. Paoli's park isnt near as bad as you are talking about bmbw but I definitely understand how shitty the situation is. I am trying to talk to the GM at Paoli and get a corporate meeting to set standards for all Peak Resort parks next year. I will let everyone know if this meeting comes around.

i would really like the chance to talk to somebody in charge of peak resorts rather than the gms at bmbw....all i do now is get bitched at for giving constructive criticism...needless to say it was about 10 minutes before I dropped for the big air...that put me in a great mood :)

yeah the bonus days are really a catchy idea!   we should really take every day up until st.patricks day (typical closing day) as a real gift from management ......this place is really being run into the ground ... but i think ....there could be hope ..

dude all brandy and jodi want is a fat paycheck!  It is too obvious that something needs to be done about the way this place needs to be run.  Go and check every other peak resort even mad river and you wont find this Bonus days or park not being rebuilt.  I have found that most of these stupid ideas like the bonus  days and all these painful budget cut have come from the GM's.  This place makes plenty enough money to be open here in march and to be doing all these things is just too much in one year.

I hope the word gets to them or peak resorts so something can be done

true, but you gotta keep in mind that they've already made their money for the year. People aren't buying passes anymore, the schools are gone so pretty much the only people that are left are the season pass holders... with the economy in such a shithole BMBW probably made a lot less money than they're used to so budget cuts are probably necessary....

But still I agree with you that BMBW needs to step up it's game. BMBW can't come close to comparing with other peak resorts like Mad River.

I know you're right about the economy, but BMBW did a great business this year. I've been skiing at bmbw for over 10 years and some of the most crowded days i've ever seen were this year. And ski school definitely didn't slow down either. Not hating on you though.

to the management of bmbw they think that being able to ski into march is a gift to the people. the season to them is the middle of December through February and letting us ski in March is a bonus.
so they decided that as long as people buy lift tickets and they snow is their they will stay open calling these days bogus... i mean bonus days.

Skiing is definitely skiing. no matter if its on rental skis or on $1200 pair of twins...be greatfull you skied this winter in the Midwest, even-though some resorts are more well-equipped than others, they all face the fact that we are fighting the inevitable fact that ITS NOT THAT COLD IN THE MIDWEST. Just enjoy every second your skis slide through snow and when the park is shitty, go down a different trail and ollie over all the school-kids that have fallen down. Yes, it sucks. Yes, you are in the Midwest. Yes, move if you want to keep complaining. This thread has went on 1 page too long.

I hate the ignorant posts saying "move if you want to keep complaining" do you not realise that half the kids posting in this thread are still in highschool/middle school or do not have the resources to move? i'm fortunate enough to be moving to utah next year but not everyone is.....

besidest that though....it sucks to think that I look back on my season this year and while yes I had fun because I was on skis...most of my fun days were not held at bmbw...I think I had at most 1 week where you could see a smile on my face at bwine...and that was there last week when the jumps were actually fun......we had two huge storms and unfortunately ...nothing was done...ohhh well have fun in ohio suckers :)
