Best of the Midwest: Parks

Sure, this copies The Best of the East Coast, but seriously, I'm from Wiscompton and haven't skiied outside of the state (other than CO). So where is the best Midwestern park? Rank 1-3 if possible.

1. Granite Peak
2. Perfect North Slopes
3. Marquette Mountain
All those are the top three. And they are in no order.

Other good ones I know of are Tyrol Basin, and im sure some of the MN ones are good..I know for S.E. Wisconsin Alpine. Those are just a few. Wilmot is pretty good. Dont know much about Sunburst.

Wilmot has really stepped up their game this year
Ive heard Perfect North is great
Ive also heard Granite Peak, Hyland, and Spirit are all really nice

Tyrol got some dank shit. Perfects for sure. Haven't really hit up MN... but in the UP marquette mountain usually has some legit stuff.

idk about Lutsens park, but granite has alot of shit. they have two very legit jumps this year. and have a ton of RAILS up and boxes.

from what ive herd from other people and what they update on facebook, seems like they have about 50 plus rails/boxes. and a bunch of jumps. i guess there big jump is at least 50 feet and pops you a good 15 from the deck. idk im going friday so ill find out and get osme pics.

they doubled the area for there park.
add em on facebook and check there pics.
and they just updated on there page. 15 jumps, 30 jibs? but one of my friend was there sat. and said he saw at least 50. so idk now.

Perfect's park is so easy to just lap all day. the atmosphere is too sick and people are always stoked on anything. and the features are always prime.

perfect is cool and all but they have like 7 features.. mad river is set up soo good this year you can have so many different runs with so many different combinations of rails/boxes and jumps

if by 7 features you mean 17.... not including our small park. and that looks like either 3 big rollers or 3 small jumps. yea your park is lookin pretty good, but say it had the best features of any hill, people's opinion would probably go to crap once they get instantly hated on for shreddin on skis and trying to have fun.

Um...... no not at all.

As for my 2 cents. Your not going to find better made jumps in at least OH, KY, and IN than at perfect north slopes. This year i have actually been to Perfects, MRM, Paoli, and Snowtrails.

From what I have hit, Perfects blows away the other three resorts in the jump area.

Paoli and Mad River had some nice jibs, but they were almost all boxs and no rails of any kind. Plus they were setup very poorly.

Mmesser, from all the comments I have seen you post, Its sounds like you have stayed at MRM all year. Dont get me wrong I think it MRM could be setup ok, and by the pics it looks way better than I was there minus those "jumps". But I think you need to go explore the midwest a little more before you make any calls. Especially saying Perfects only has 7 features.

Oh and also. The BEST midwest park is PFC. And registration is now open. PM me if you want some details.

ive been to a few places in the mid west this year ranging from boyne to snow trails to holiday valley and i have been to pfc the last 3 years so i know how sick perfects can be... i have just been trying to get more respect for mad river because they have turned that place around this year and in your opinion it may not be up to perfect north standards but it is the best park in ohio and it is a lot of fun and that is all that really matters

Perfect North Slopes no doubt.. Those "jumps" are like the small hit in the little tp for PNS.. If you want to hit up the best park in the midwest go to perfect north slopes.. i live like 30 min away and go there 5 times a week..

Its good to see somebody is trying to fight for better skiing at a place that has always been considered a boarder park.

In Ohio yes, i think you may have on of the best parks. When I was there earlier i thought it was pretty bad. But from those pics it sees like it is a whole lot more legit.

The times they are a changin'. Damn Granite. That is sick to see. They used to blow it when I was back there in college at Point and 'teaching' at Granite so I could ski for free. They used to be run by a bunch of assholes that wouldn't even build jumps, let alone put rails out. Right before I left, they had two rails up!
Good to see they are finally heeding the call to build a decent terrain park. Cascade gave up on their park this year and basically just has a bunch of rails and two 15ft. tables, too bad, they used to do a sick job. Haven't been to Tyrol in a long time, are they still building a good jump? That place used to be THE place to go. Sick big jump and they allowed inverts!!!

Spirit was always sick back in the day as well as Marquette.

Whaletail(Rollercoaster)
C Box(They have a few only one out atm)
A wishbone rail (Not sure of exact name but it was 2 c rails as an S but they made it into a wishbone shape thing now)
Thats the new stuff they have 2 big jumps prolly 25 and 30-35 footers? And a big kicker, 2 Kinked rails, Flatdown box, Mailbox, battleship, superbox and the urban rail.

I may have missed a few things but the jumps are on and off ok they were nice today i was attempting switch 3's over the 25 footer.
