Ok, so there's been a bit of talk about lame ass ski patrol the past little bit on here. Today I was just messing around on the mountain and there is a main funnel run that catches you and it wraps around back to the lift. (Our mountain has one lift that goes to the top, from there you can ski all aspects of the mountain and there are two runs that wrap around both sides to catch you and bring you back to the lift). Anyways, I came out on the run and went to do a little side trail through some trees for some side hits. While in there a ski patrol was in there hitting some side hits as well. When we got back onto the run proper I hoped switch and did some fast switch carve turns (at which time I passed the patroller) till we got to a steep section. I just switch straight lined the steep section till we hit a roller where I did a switch 180 into a sit tuck. with the patroller still behind me I stayed in the sit tuck to gain speed while my friend was doing side hits and skiing all over the run... a bit further down the run there's this bit of earth that makes a kind of step up to step down thing back onto the run. well, I did a right 360 on to left 360 off going across the whole run after. At this point the ski patroller (who is probably in his late 50's by the way) got enough speed up to pass me, and while skiing past he says"some nice tricks dude." and gives me a thumbs up.
put that in your pipe and smoke it! also, a friend and I today were talking about how there will probably never be speed police in the kootenays... if there were, they'd probably try to race you.
