i dont have a problem with it,
i used to smoke a bunch but stopped because the reasons i was doing were not good.
as a recreational thing then thats cool, Jesus doesnt want robots and if you want to smoke then i think he is cool with that.

saying that i think that when it turns you away from god when weed becomes more important then your relashionship with jesus then it becomes a problem.

I agree with what your saying here.
on top of that here are a few additional reasons why it is "wrong":
1. Ilegal (Christians are under a universal mandate to respect and obey the laws of the land)
2. Our body is a Godly gift (To pollute or harm our bodies is to desecrate the House of God)
3. Vunerability (susceptibility to deception and illusions from the Evil one)
4. Addiction (maybe not physically but psychologically - we cant serve two masters)

In summary, the Bible teaches us that “denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world”

2. What about eating unhealthy processed foods, taking prescription drugs, smoking cigarettes, or drinking? I see plenty of Christians taking part in these activities, why aren't they condemned?

3. Go back to question 2 with drinking and prescription drugs. What about the deception from pop culture music, TV shows, and the general stupidity of society?

i think the deception of pop culture in general is what makes i harder being a christian these days then it ever was,
every time i turn on the TV it promotes sex, drugs, and people living life without a need for god in there lifes.

god gives us a choice to take all these paths and gave us jesus to take away the sin for these things we do to take us away from him.

using these things i belive are not sinful, unless it takes away from god, if you want to smoke then cool, just dont let it take over from god.
absaining from things is delicate, there is no point to it unless we back it up with prayer and love for Jesus, i spend a week volentarilly homeless about 3 weeks ago during a week of fasting with 4 other guys, some of us felt it really connected us better with christ because we spent the time we ussualy would be working in prayer others quit after 3 days because the didnt they gave everything up and thought that was enough.

i guess what im getting at is that without a relashionship with god then it doesnt matter what you do or not do but at the same time if you do have a relashionship with him then it still doesnt matter what you do, if you TRUELY repent then you are saved.

good responses guy I think its kinda bad but I mean so isnt alot of stuff so well idk I kinda want to ask my grandpa (former non-denominational (sp?) minister) but I dont want him telling everybody (parrents) what I asked him plus I know what is answer will be (not approve) but I just want his resoning

i feel like this is why there are so many of those religion bashing kids in the thread you made
society today is very counter religion and promotes so many things that go against what is presented by religion (and promote a healthy lifestyle). Times have changed a lot and people nowadays like to push against the limits and do whatever they like because they feel rules tie them down. For example I may only be 17 but my mom works at an elementary school and the kids are off the wall but now that society and the economy have forced both parents to work the kids get neglected and try to gain attention by acting out, I've also noticed a lot of parents not disciplining their kids well as if they could care less how loud the kid is screaming and what the kid does wrong. Flash back 20 years and kids getting in trouble in the slightest get whacked with a belt now parents yell at the kid but nothing really happens and since there is no threat given the kid breaks all the rules and fears no concequence. When you look at something like Church people have become too busy to fit God into their schedules and kids who are forced to go hate all these rules on how to live their life they'd rather do whatever their favorite movie star is doing... hardly the best role models. Now im not trying to make myself sound like an angel, i hardly go to Church and find it hard to always live my life according to Jesus' wishes but i still feel that i have a connection that helps me get through the day sometimes and that there is always someone who will listen. that's the great thing about God and religion, its choice, you can be a saint or a sinner but God loves you the same and you can always think about how you're living life from a Christian point of view
im sorta rambling but hopefully this makes some sort of sense

In the bible it speakes against "drunkardness" and such.

If God was against it would he have written in the bible about it?

Myself im still undecided about this topic
