Pivotal Moments in your Skiing Life

mine just happened today.  I skied ARG's for the first time and had skied nothing more than 90mm underfoot before.  I felt like Thall just ripping through trees and popping off bumps and stuff.  It gave me the same feeling that i get when i take my last final for the year, and i am just unnaturally happy and stoked on life and the possibilities it holds. 

So that is my pivotal moment what's yours?

hmmmm, i guess a couple would be when i was 10, skiing the hardest marked trail at my home mtn.

when i was 10-11 learning 3's off a little booter we built.

this year, i started to spin off of the biggest jump we have(mabye 35 feet hahah), and get more comfortable in the air/on rails&boxes.

I guess the one thing that really made me want to step up and push myself outside of the park was watching Billy Poole. He really inspires me to push myself and test my limits.

my biggest has been recently but it has already worked wonders. i'll give the short version.
i had a pretty bad season due to getting pretty in to drugs.
i lived in wisco so it was already bad but i didnt take things very seriously skiing wise.
eventually i got arrested for drugs, and was under 18 so i went to rehab in northern utah.
so basically i committed to rehab and changed a lot. finished up high school early cuz it was super easy and went decide to go to the U a semester before the rest of my class.
ive only been skiing the weekends cuz of my class schedule but i have improved a lot already and will fix up my schedule so i can ski everyday next year.
most pivotal experience in my life so far skiing and just life wise.

although it had nothing to do with me on skis, the first Freeze magazine I ever saw (and owned). It was the one with the New Canadian Air Force... was the first time I saw pictures of people grabbing their skis and whatnot. Changed my life.

Since than, I'd say when I stopped revolving my skiing around the park and forced myself to ride a mountain like a man.

Year in Switzerland, learned a love of powder
First twintips.  I finally decided that was where I wanted to go with skiing
First 540 last year, last jump on last day of trip.  I just went for it and rode away happy. 
Skiing on Bacons on two feet of fresh in December- yes the east really can be that good

getting new schoolers last year... i sucked so bad at skiing, now, well i still suck but reading and cruising the forums inspired me to learn off axis stuff and progress on rails. 

meeting skier friends.  before i skied alone, then i saw a couple skiers at my hill and started rideing with them, i progressed there too.  skiing with people always helps. plus its way more funn

and this summer will be one for me going to timberline for a week or two.  or i might get to go to Windells.  i really hope i get to go to windells.  i heard it was just so much fun.  and you learn so much.  so this summer could be a lot of fun too.

the opening of Global Storming.... that's when i knew things were about to change....

i had many great moments before that and many great moments after that but every fall i still pop global storming into the DVD player and get stoked for the coming season....

The most pivotal moment of my skiing life was when I strapped a pair of '03 Salomon Teneighties on my feet.  It was the first time I skied a twin tip ski.  Since that moment, I have never looked back.
