Keystone VS Breckenridge......... Breck wins

Living in colorado i feel like all day i hear about the breck vs keystone argument. I would just like to say once and for all breck is so far superior to keystone, and it amazes me that so many people ski key on the daily. Any thoughts?

i digged keystones park when i went out there, that was earlier in the season though and im from the ice coast.  brecks winds were for the lossss

there are arguments to made for both places...personally i prefer keystone because its a faster lap and people aren't as anti-social as they are at breck. but i like both.

I rode both last season for one day each and they were both reallllll good. Keystone definitely had a better vibe, but Breck's shit was set up nicer. What are the setups at each of em currently?

Oh god yes. It is pathetic. So much potential for a mini park of some sorts but no it just sucks. Do you ski there? I have a pass and I'm up there like every weekend

all my friends who love keystone argue it has a better "vibe" but everytime im there the park is STUFFED with people but no one is ever hitting anything???  obviously people in the big line are throwing down but the rest of the park is a shit show.

breck might not have the steezy vibe keystone does but it gets much more snow which isnt skied off during night skiing and is much more low key.

and i dont think anyone is gunna argue that keystones pipe is better than breck...

Keystone's pipe is more like a big mountain chute.  Apparently no one at Keystone likes the half pipe.

of course it's not skiied off at night at breck, that's because the 60+ MPH winds there blow it off the mountain before anyone can ski it

i would also argue that the 'steezy vibe' is apparent at both places.

i live in MA so i go out to keystone everyother year with the fam. ive skiied keystone and brek countless times but i feel that keystones is a lil bettter. just cuz it has its own lift. which sucks at the same time cuz you see ppl like this thread creator doing huge crazy shit and you feel like a retard cuz you cant land a 3 on the med jumps hahaha. but anywhooo i just like keystone better overall.

Breck has sold out. They keep building giant ass hotels and condos right at the base of the mountain. When those hotels open, the mountain is going to get soooo much more crowded than it already gets, especially on weekends (which is the only time i can ski). Also, there are so many more gapers and tourists that go to breck. Once those hotels open, gapers will outnumber us. Now don't get me wrong, I love skiing breck, and have my whole life and it definately does have the sickest parks in Colorado.  Such fun jumps and many unique jibs.

I usually choose to ski keystone mainly because its closer especially if loveland pass is open. The atmosphere at keystone is way chiller in my opinion. It also isn't as overly developed like breck is. The park isn't as good as brecks but is still highly ranked and fun. Also if you feel like getting away from the gapers on the front side you can go to the outback which is pretty damn fun.

This is a really hard decision i have to make every weekend because both are fun (because skiing is fun) but i most of the time i prefer Keystone.

So sick, in Freeway, there are 3 huge jumps, then a qp, then there is a rail line to the left of the jumps, then the pipe and a few jibs to the right of the pipe. Then a few rails/ bonks at the bottom. Park Lane has three jumps, a variety of rails, then another jump, more rails, then two more jumps, then more rails and a wall.

Then Key has the same setup as when you were here last year, just different jibs? Do you know when you are coming back out?

breck has sold out?! when was breck core? breck is gaper heaven. the've gotten the most skier visits per season in the country for years. the only sell out thing they did while i lived there was change 75% of the parking to pay parking. lame

Breck sold out long ago. If you think those new hotels are even going to increase skiers on the mountain by over 5% you're an idiot.

If you can't ski Breck on weekdays, then you are gaper. Just another CU weekend warrior.

ahhhhhhhhahahahah. yes i go to cu and yes i am a weekend warrior. in fact all i do is skiing and school. thats all i have time for.

i am an aerospace engineering student. i have classes every weekday and am working on labs and homework every day when im not in class. occasionally i skip class and go up on fridays depending on how much work i have to do. i was born in colorado and learned to ski at breck and key.

even though i only ski on weekends, i get more days in then most of the "skiiers" at cu who have 3 days of classes a week. trust me, if i wasnt so driven on getting a quality education, then id probably live in a trailer in downieville working at burger king and skiing every day.

They both have a lot to offer. Keystone is dope, theres a lot more people that seem like theyre having a lot more fun, and hardly any gapers. They have a huge variety of things to play on, and it spreads people out a lot. Breck doesnt really have that. The tree skiing is a lot more fun as well

Breck on the other hand has freeway, and is a 4 minute walk from my house to quicksilver chair, so i endup going a lot more.  I don't like getting scanned every time I get on the chair...and having tons of people to wait in line with, allll the time. But during the week its not bad at all...as soon as the weekend hits though...i just straight up won't go to breck

i like breck because of the flow of the park and the amazing jumps and pipe.  granted im sticking to the medium lines, but at keystone i find the alignment of the features funny so you have to zig-zag around, plus the jumps are hellllllla lippy and thats just not my preference.  that and keystone gets icccccy.  breck gets windy up top peak 8 but if your looking for good snow you shouldnt be on peak 8 anyways.  people say breck isnt social but its becuase everyone there is rolling in groups of people, myself included.  and people who are glued to their ipods 24/7 cant complain about not being social.

i dont know, i just prefer breck, but its hard to really bitch about anything, i can go to vail beav steamboat breck key abasin or winter park, all amazing resorts, so comming from the east coast i just like not having ice.
