Skis for tight tree lines and all mountain

I'm looking for a ski for Newfoundland conditions. We're kind of an anomoly on the east coast. A fair amount of snow so we get to ski some pow. The tree lines are great but our tree cover is very tight. I need a pair of skis that is wide and will give some float but light enough to through them around between the trees. I ski 30% park 30% pow/tree lines and 40% all mountain and bc jumps.

I'm almost 100% going for the K2 obSETHed in a 179 (I'm 5'11" 170lbs advanced level)

Can anyone recommend any other skis that would fit the bill? The obSETHed is the MOST towards a big mountain/pow ski I would want to go (no hellbents, etc)

Also,I need to mount them up. I need a 14din binding for sure. and the LIGHTER THE BETTER

I was leaning toward the STH 14. But 've been hearing some stuff about the new Markers. How are they compared to the Salomons?

The obsetheds with sth14s would be a sick setup IMO. Never ridden the obsetheds but from what I hear from other people is they love them. Super solid ski and they float extremely well.

I've ridden on a pair of sth 14s and also thought they where a really solid bindings. They seem to hold up to anything you throw at them. There is no need to spend the extra cash for a pair of Jesters.

I'm literally about 10min from ordering.

Does anyone else have input on bindings? If the jesters are lighter/better I will get them. Money isn't really an object as I only get a setup every blue moon and like to do it right.

Hey, I ski in newfoundland too. My first choices for an only ski would be the Line Blend Prophet 90, or Surface Watch Life, but the ObSETHeds will be as good as any of those for what you need. I don't know anything about the Jesters, but I don't like Salomon bindings because I have always found their durability to be sub-par.

I would go for Rossi/Look because they would likely last longer and be more reliable , but they are heavier.

I rode a pair of 179 obSETHeds with jesters and they were sick.. awesome all around ski, and they would be great for what you want. They are really responsive and nimble for how big they are, lots of fun just all around too, they make great turns believe it or not.

Thanks guys, just ordered 179cm obSETHed with Jesters!

And my buddy ordered 179cm Kung Fujas with Griffons.

Can't wait until they get here! Now I just need some full tilts next year.  Hopefully they fit better then my salomon pro models

yeah the obsethed would be tight. kung fujas maybe too. i think youd be very pleased with the obSETHed.

I agree on the shorter skis. However, this is my everyday ski so I need the length. Plus I've been skiing for 18+ years so I can definatly handly myself.

Besides, I hear the seth is pretty light for its size and the jester is the lightest 16din binding out there and with a centered swing weight.

Icelantic Shaman.

Most retarded fat ski turning radius I've ever skied which makes it perfect to demolish trees. Crazy part about the 160 shoveled tip is that it doesn't seem to lose and edge ever on hard pack.
