What's up with everyone saying laker is so known? So he entered a competition and made it on TV.... so what? I've seen way more videos and threads on Holson and Tim than Laker. Laker straight up kills it for skiing southern Indiana. You guys have no idea the kind of park he rode to get as good as he has gotten. And as far as urban goes, they barely get any snow. They are like 10 miles north of Kentucky. Did you see how ghetto the urban set ups they had were? I'm pretty sure those were filmed mid January. The kid is 15 and absolutely rips.

Not hate to the other people in the comp, but Laker had the best video IN MY OPINION. Only one with a double flip, huge spins on and off, 540 switch up, 2 on 3 change 2 out on a DFD rail, and so much more. Laker deserves this!!

i also think laker killed it but that park he was skiing in looked really legit. no mater what state it is in. i live in PA and my hill has nothing near to that

Yeah PNS park is legit. What I'm trying to say is the area that they are given and the amount of features they can have out at a time. The little wedge of snow in between the 2 chairlifts is their entire area on the hill for their park. I'd say Laker definitely makes the most of what he has to work with.

 I have a ton of respect for Laker, no question.  At 15, he his stomping shit that is absurd.  That being said, I just don't think his style is all that photogenic.  A lot of his bigger spins on and off rails, and swaps, just looked hucked and super figure skater/aerialist to me.

  What it comes down to, is what is this contest about?  Is it about giving the win to the "best technical skier who does the most difficult tricks", or the "most aesthetically pleasing and photogenic skier".  I think we all agree that Martini is a better skier than Brogan (in terms of bag of tricks), yet Brogan won, ostensibly because his skiing "looked" better.  If we can assume this to be the case, I don't think Laker's skiing is polished or refined enough to be sandwiched between a shot of Delorme and Wallisch.  The kid is 15, has all the potential in the world, and will undoubtedly improve.  No hate at all. 

  I also agree with some other people's thoughts about the lack of variety in the entries.  I am overall impressed and stoked on everyone, but there is a feeling of "sameness" for me as well.  I'm not talking about the thug thing,  or hesh, or any of that bullshit, I just mean in the sense of the actual approach.  Also, I love hiphop,  but come on...using weezy or dipset should just be a no no at this point.  I just want to see someone really carve out a niche.  In skateboarding for example you have someone like Rodney Mullen whose style and approach is completely different from everyone else's.  I just want to see some sort of revolution take place.  How many pretzel variations to sleepy ride away can we see before somebody pushes in another direction.

  That did turn into a negative rant, sorry.  I'll close by saying that everyone's entries were really great and I hope all of you guys get some exposure.  Props, and thanks for giving us some quality skiing to watch.  Good luck Berman!

I agree, but if you put any of the other riders in lakers situation their tricks would be hucked too. All he has to work with in that edit is like a 35-40 foot jump. Hard to float a rodeo 9 or switch 9 or a double on something like that...

Just put Laker in the situation to shred PC like some of those other guys and he would undoubtably have a cleaner style for the tricks he was throwing.

i think holson was the best edit in my opinion, plus he rocked the level 1 hoodie so hes obviously got it in the bag!!! I tihnk if laker wins it  its gong to be because of his age. Even if he doesnt win, he'll for sure get picked up by a company because to be that good at taht age theres tons of possibilities.

The kid worked with what he had to work with, I'm sorry the length and type of feature isn't pleasing to you. Put him in an environment like mcchesney or holson has to work with and he would slay it too, I guarantee it.

marty bullet is honestly the first person ive ever seen to pull off the hesh steeze nicely. hes got my vote. if not him then defintely holson. i dont see too many videos of him anymore and i would love to see more. i feel like laker and sean jordan wouldnt be able to put out a good enough segment since theyre still so young and they would have issues with traveling and going to school at the same time

wtf happened to charlie owens? It seemed like he was filming for superunknown at coc and I remember seeing a few of the shots one being the best flat 3 japan follow cam shot on a 50 footer ive ever seen; along with cork 9 tails superman fronts, double fronts, rodeo onto rails and disgusting style i thought this guy had it in the bag. hopefully thats not it and hopefully he made an edit.

if not, bullet ftw. i dont see how he cant win compared to everyone else.

Finally! Somebody who understands what we ski on everyday. He can do so many different tricks and is coming from a crap mountain that has basically a 400 or so ft long park. I dont mean to hate on my own mountain but its small and he straight up kills it.

Nice videos, but where is Oskari "okko" Raitanen, saw his edit and it was sooo sick ! He showed something new and innovative with some nice spots and crazy tricks. But these videos were also insane, and  I would go with tim mcchesney to win, dude is sick !

Exactly my thoughts. I think It will come down to holson mchesney and williams if its based on style. Personally i think williams had some really sick air tricks probably a little better than holson and mchesney but it could have just been cause I love follow cams.

Problem number 2

Nobody takes the 2 minutes to read people's posts to understand what they are talking about.

Age doesn't matter, where you ski doesn't matter, whether or not the person is "known" doesn't matter, and surprisingly enough, it doesn't matter whether or not you know them!

What matters is who will put together the best segment. That's it. What else comes into play?

Ohhhhh yesssss he's so young, he is going to be amazing in a few years! Well guess what, your right! So why the fuck would you pick a 15 year old now when there are skiers who are more pleasing on the eyes. Cool you can huck flips and big spins off rails, but seriously, who cares? I still prefer watching old ski movies because they AREN'T spinning like tops and doing flips every which way.

And please, using the shitty hill exuse does not count. Yes they might be able to do more with less, but guess what? So could most of the other riders if they wanted to go ski a shitty hill. Either way, I can guarantee a Level 1 shoot will have some gnarly features, and that those kids repping "shitty parks" will shit their pants and have a lot more trouble getting used to it as opposed to guys who have ridden big ones.

And not to name names, but a lot of the other "generic" riders are just that. Yeah your shit is dope, yeah you got steeze, and yes, you can throw down just like any other of the entries. But hey guess what? So can Wallisch and Harlaut, and trust me they make it look a whole lot better than you do. Get your own style.

Diversity is key mother fuckers.

It seemed like other than a few shots Holson was only dong safetys which was annoying. Last here there were like 15 finalists so I'm assuming when it's officially released there will be quite a few more
