Hey guys
I just picked up some line anthem octolands and im pretty new to the park scene
What am I supposed to do in terms of like detuning and stuff?
I've already waxed the skis, but I dont really understand the tuning process.
am i supposed to file down like the first 10 cm from each of the tips?

if somebody could guide me through the process of how to tune up a new ski it would be greatly appreciated...
I checked the search bar but i still dont get it..im confused on what to do

so what you're saying is that you buy  new skis, get them mounted and waxed and you're good to go?

also, is tehre anyway i can help to prevent the top sheet from chipping?
and is the cap construction that bad as opposed to abs sidewalls?

well thats what i do with it; unwrap plastic on them get em mounted wax em and ski em
and i kinda like the cap construction for carving and shit

oh woops almost forgot
you can file down the top sheet i think and it stops it from chipping a lil bit

i just mounted and rode em, i normally get my skiis tuned at the begining of each season though just to get every thing nice and fresh for the season, other than that ill throw on some paste wax crap if im ever feeling slow.

you dont reeaaally need to de-tune them, unless they are really sharp. they will get duller just from hitting rails. as for chipping, taking a file to them isnt going to do anything because they are cap. it works one sidewalled skis because there is a sharper edge where the topsheet and sidewall meet. id say just go and ski them. if you want to detune the edges, just take a file to them and just round them off a little bit

Just ride em bud.  If the skis catch a ton on boxes and rails, just take a gummy stone at 45degrees and de-tune the edges a bit.  Keep in mind skiing on them a few days will have the same effect.

just skiing will detune them naturally, also isn't cap a bit more protective against chipping than sidewall anyway?

let your skis detune naturally.
hit a few box type rails and you will be good to go.

they will detune naturally. You wont even really notice the shrapness. Just go out there and have some fun.

The factory tune that they put on them is great. like mentioned above they will detune themselves. Best bet after 8-10 days skiing on them would be to bring them into a ski shop and get them waxed and sharpened

maybe the wax part but im pretty sure he doesnt want them sharpened. he wants them to detune.

If your skiing mostly park you dont want sharp edges, its just dumb.
