Either going to go on a 3 day trip to Hood or Schweitzer.... which one would you choose? Prolly gunna go park 65% of the time, and the rest hopefully backcountry, probably some groomers thrown in as well, liike 30% backcountry 5% groomed.
Which resort would you choose and why? if this is in the wrong section, sorry, and feel free to move
Schweitzer for sure! It's been snowing here off and on for the past three days. We've probably gotten about 5 inches of fresh, and more is supposed to be on the way. The park is getting built up pretty well. They have a three jump line (medium to large features) and quite a few jibs including some boxes, rails, rainbow rail, and wall ride.
If you're looking to do backcountry to can ride the t-bar and hike Big blue, which will eventually drop you back into the resort boundaries which equals less hiking. But there are some good cliff drops in bounds and tree skiing with pow if you know where to go.
Groomers have been great all season, really soft and fast lately with this new snow. I don't know much about what is going on at Hood snow wise or park wise though.

Back to the thread, I like Schweitzer a lot. It is totally legit in so many ways. If you are an ass hole then yes you are prolly going to have a crummy time. The local park skiers are really good and fun to shred with. If you are there to shred and have a good time then you will love it. There are a ton of natural jibs, a super fun park, and amazing terrain.
What mountain would you go to if you went to Hood? When I skied Meadows, it was alright, but pretty mellow and the park was decent. T-Line is super flat, the park was ok.
As you can tell I am completely biased, but depending on what mountain you decide to go to and when you will be there, I will show you around Schweitzer.
