OK so I need a strictly pipe ski....

So I have narrowed it down to the extreme's and the dumonts. Could someone tell me which is lighter, softer and has a low swing weight? Also if you have some tell me how you like them.

if you want a pipe ski you don't want it to be softer. i'd go with the dumont just because its so fucking poppy.

I know that the Dumonts have a really good rep with pipe skiers and am sure the extremes are very good too but I would go with the Dumonts

taylor you are trippin all of those before dumont? id go pipe cleaner and dumont way before id go any of those!! especially anthem. but i like a stiff ski for jumps since im more of a jump guy.

I love pipe cleaners, moment is a sick company and needs support and has a great flex for pipe, same with surface. But I just remembered dumonts have a wood core. So I might agree with you.

get the extremes and get the inserts in them so you can switch your bindings around so you dont have to buy more bindings.

Personally have extremes. Not very impressed with them this year,Relatively heavy,topsheets get chipped and scratched everytime i use them, so stiff its not even funny (but they are super stable on big jumps and everywhere around the mountain) swing weight is pretty low,havent had trouble at all throwing them around but you get my point. In all honesty id go with Dumonts for sure,Simon has rode them for like 3 years straight and even used his this year still,such a sick ski. PS salomons capped skis are a hell of a lot better then their new ones.

yea but last years dumonts, which were the best. were capped. i would go with the 07-08 dumont you can probably find some relatively cheap and they a an awesome ski

Pipe Cleaner, Dumont, TNK, Extreme. Thats my order. The exrtremes are the softest of the bunch and the dumonts are the stiffest. If you want more pop, a lighter ski, and just an all around better (imo) ski, go with the dumont. Or the pipe cleaners (i love mine)

pipe cleaners would be sweet. I love mine for everything.. tips are nice and soft but the ski overall is pretty stiff, so its good everywhere and even carves... best ski i have ridden

Anthem, S4, Suspect, Wall, AR6, TNK, or P3

when was the last time a line ski was on a podium? the rossi sas 4is what you need its keeps winning in the pipe.

uhh, pipe? The chronic is far from stiff. Its a mid level flex. Dumonts are a HELL of a lot stiffer. Suspects are a tiny bit softer than dumonts, but essentially they're the same ski (same dimensions, dumont has double edge armour + a little more stiffness.) Suspects would be better for park + pipe.

i have the old dumonts and they are amazing for everything. I'd suggest them, personally i found extremes dead and unresponsive.

ar6 is not gonna be as stiff or snappy as the pc's which is great for stomping landings you never thought you could

ya i have tnk's and i was amazed at how much power they generated in tranny of the pipe, im not very good at pipe, but those go so fast in there

he said he wants park and pipe though. i dont know how much pipe he skis. if he skis like 70% park i'd say go with ar6 if he skis like close to half park and half pipe, pipe cleaner.

I compete pipe at a pretty high level and compete slope too. I was thinking the pipe cleaners but with it's edges and base wouldn't they just get destroyed with the fact that I ski alot of rails? Well maybe not the bases so much.
