Park Construction

I was thinking a little while ago while I was riding a park in France, how cool it would be to plan out and build a park. But I guess it has to be a pretty technical job if you think about it.

I guess there are all sorts of things to consider, like the size and steepness of the hits, distance to the knuckle, all that kind of stuff. as well as if one feature leads on to the next.

Are any of you actually involved in this, or know anyone who is? Anyone know alot about what goes into a park before its opened up?

My uncle ha a bobcat. Great for building jumps. We hap a 40 and 60 foot gap for our snowmobiles last year. It was sweet.

At sierra all of the park guys are lazy and the trannies for rails have little tracks for snowboarders in them and I always get effed up on them. I still give them props for building all of the crap, but do you guys have that problem with the park crew?

from my experiance, every thing here in CO get groomed over every night and is perfect the next day, exept the pipes, sometimes they get lazy and dont groom them for a couple days

haha about the snowboard thing the whole park by me is designed for snowboarders because they are the majority of the mountain

I encourage you all to announce how bad your local Park is on the ParksandPipes.com site once it goes up late Jan. This way mountains can look up the comments on their facilities and realize how much work they need to do. This way resorts can see the dissatisfaction of cutomers. Keep progressin, word...

all i'm gonna say is that ride-ons are stupid, and when a SBer 50-50's a ride on flat bar, that is not even jibbing, it shouldn't even be considered a jib

yeah i really hate ride on's as well.. i think its harder to ride a ride on then a gap to rail... u know what really pisses me off to. is when terrain parks design their rail setups for snowboarders with all the ride ons

They will put a rainbow rail on a flat, and make it a ride on.. what the fuck, if ur a skier u basically have to butter onto it.. pisses me off

ya i hate ride ons but the park i go to lots is awasome because i have a skier that designes it so there are few ride ons
