I saved someones life, and its changed my life, its such an uplifting experiance to say the least.
Heres my account of the story (Very badly written, sorry!)
So i went down the beach and was bodyboarding on some pretty sweet 10-11ft waves, then i went in and waas walking back to the car when-
This indian lady runs up to me crying as shes like 'my husband my husband he is drowning' and points at him in the sea, so anyway i was like shit i got to help, i dump my board and just leg it (difficult to do with swim fins for bodyboarding on!) into the water and swim to this guy, meaning i have to rescue without and aid, i get their and am like ' stay calm im here to help'
Then he grabs me and shoves me under the water, so i kick out and swim underwater away from him, then swim back to him and again and repeat ' stay calm im here to help' then he goes under and im like shitting myself, so i go under and pull him up, and get a hold of him, and swim him using the arim over chest technique all the way to shore where the lifeguards revive him.
This has also led me to make a decision regarding what i want to do when i leave school, i want to save lives, in the coastguard as a rescue swimmer. If you have seen the guardian or know anything about the coastguard you will know what im talking about, if you havnt seen the guardian, i say go watch it, it gives you an insight into the lives of the unsung heros who saves lives on your coasts everyday.
So yeah, thats my story, it doesnt make a good thread, but you can dicuess when you have saved a life or about the coastguard or the film mentioned if you like!
