I'm down to five fucking hours a week at my shop. I honestly think its out of pure sympathy. The economy is fucking my shit. Whatevs, more time to ski I guess.
And yes, I know, its affecting all of us, but I'm just curious to see how badly ya'll have been hit by the current economic climate.

It actually hasn't done much to my wallet. I'm a server at an upscale restaurant, and people still seem to be spending their money. Granted, they are spending a bit less, such as skipping dessert. But they're still buying wine!

I went from 70 hours a week to 20. Mainly because ski season is winding down and the weather is becoming warmer.

If you work at a ski shop, you should expect your hours to be dropping pretty quickly now.
I expect I have two to four weeks of work left at the shop I currently work at.
then I will have to find some other work.

I'm working at a ski shop right now, haven't been affected yet. I'd also say we're a little understaffed.
lickily for me I have the bike industry in the summer, and its shaping up to be a good year.

I don't work in the winter... so you know, i can't really talk about right now. Overall though I haven't been affected at all. I've got my job lined up for the summer, the money is there, the hours are there... I do think though, that in the long run my industry is going to have some very hard times.
