Ski no matter the conditions?

Anyone else out there enjoy skiing no matter what the conditions are? I find that whenever I'm skiing and the conditions are sub-par my friends want to stop and I always want to keep going. To me I really don't care how the snow is I'm just glad to be out there and havin fun. For example I'm going to sugarbush this weekend despite the fact that it is 45 degrees and rainy today. I just wanna ski

Anyone else feel the same way?

I have gone home once, and that was when the mountain was literally solid ice and I could not ski, I killed my feet.

I ski no matter what. Usually I end up skiing alone on shitty days because all my friends are pusses for the most part. For example a few weeks ago the snow was very icy and skiing kind of sucked. I skied until 4 my ride quit at one and waited for me for three hours in the lodge.

are you guys kidding ?!? rainy weather is maybe the best weather to ski because snow is soft . in mid season rainy days are the best and you can pretty much train anything without totally destroying yourself.

yes, skating rinks, -30f, 45f, rain. its all skiing...

one of the more interesting days ive ever had is a lightning storm and hail. they shut the lift down for about an hour, but then there was hail all over the place. (little hail) and it was actually fun to ski in!!!

I ski on ice probably 75 % of the time. Conditions up here really suck. Sometimes I'll go skiing, and its -10F, Icy, and Windy... So yeah, I guess ill ski anything.

its 40 degrees and raining now where i am, but the only reason im not skiing is because my area closed. it they were open i would be skiing hahaha. skiing in the rains so much fun, but getting wet does suck

Ill ski in any conditions but if it's icy I usually stay away from big jumps and dont try anything new. But no matter the conditions there is usually some part of skiing to work on and have fun with. When its really icy out I enjoy just cruisin down groomers switch.

I'll ski in anything as long as it's fiscally feasible.  For example, I will ski in the rain if I'm at a mountain I have a season pass to and it's close by.  I would not drive 2 hours and pay $60 to ski in the rain or on sheer ice.

Yep ski anything. claim/ I even bootpacked up 320m of heather and rocks in ski boots yesterday, in order to ski that vertical on very little snow on a hill in derbyshire in England. I guess there was about 50% snow cover and 50% open rocks/heather. But right at the peak was actually 3 fun mini hucks that I lapped for a while. Great day /claim

I could have written that post last year! but this year i am totally changed!

In April i busted my knee, really bad! so now i cant ski as well as I used do be able to..

So when i feel stoked and really wants to ski, i do it, and progresses!!
But if the weather is shitty and i feel like sleeping a bit longer instead of going to the mountain i might just stay home, because i wont be able to pull anything of poorly shaped jumps or icy landings anyway..

But  once i get out there I love it! No matter what the weather is like! Skiing is always skiing! :)

eh, since I get to ski pretty mcuh every day I dont mind skipping a few for rain or shitty snow. But yea, when i was only skiing 20-30 days a year Id ski in anything.

i am like this, but last sunday it was 50 degrees and there were huge puddles after some rollers. i spun off of one, landed switch, and it felt like i hit wet concrete. i ate shit at a reasonably high speed in what resembled a slushy that had been left out to melt for an hour. even worse, i looked down at my skis, and in the fall i somehow managed to take three big topsheet chips out of my left ski. i skied straight to the car and drove home. i was so pissed, but i filled in the chips really well and matched the topsheet color perfectly so that you cant even tell they're there.

i can only get out once or twice if im lucky a week so i just have to put up with the conditions. or turn around and drive 2 hours home its just not worth it. and then the place is empty so thats kinda nice

I would usually say I will ski whatever but the last couple days have been 45 with drizzle and the hill is so slow you cant even hit jumps. Plus all this oily crap from the lifts and t bar covers the bottom of your skis and slow down even more. So now days I dont ski, not till it gets colder.

I used to be like that, but now I live a 2 minute bus ride from the lift and only ski if there is 8-10" of fresh, its sunny out, or I want to ski some park.

Lots of times I just sit on the couch if the snow is crappy.

the only time I won't go skiing is if it's raining. I'll go till it starts raining, maybe even last a run or two in the rain - but probably not. I hate rain.

Other then that though, I'll ski if there's no pow, I'll ski if the park is closed and there's no pow. It's funny because this year we haven't been getting much snow (haven't had a pow day since Jan 8th), and last week we got 8cm of heavy snow on top of a ice crust. When you made a turn you would go through to the ice... Some people (mostly australian, some canadian) were saying how awesome it was out there and I didn't agree... they had the nerve to call me a powder snob - even though I have been out almost every day in the month we haven't had any powder.

The real powder snobs were the ones where were nowhere to be seen on the hill between the Jan 8th pow day and the 8cm we got last week. If I'm out every day, no matter the conditions and state that I thought the 8cm's wasn't really that great (which it wasn't) people get all stupid.

It's like when I talk about the weather, even if it's not looking like good weather. Stupid people - it doesn't matter if we talk about the bad weather coming in or not - the weather is going to do it's thing, despite what we say about it. Hmmm, this got a little off topic, sorry.

I won't ski if it's super duper duper DUPER crowded. It's stressful and kinda unsafe haha. And plus, when tons of people ski on a run, those random little moguls build up and those are no fun haha. Especially when skiing switch.

The only day I didn't ski because of conditions, it was -20 without windchill, the air felt damp and it had rained a lot the day before, so the whole mountain was solid ice and there were death cookies of all sizes all over the place. It was not at all fun to ski.

I never check the conditions before i leave for the mountain, and i wont just go up there and turn back around cause of the bad weather. Then i would waste like 1.5 hour just driving.

any time any place I can find snow I am from Texas so I have to get some when there is some to get
last year we had a freak snowstorm in march and I was getting towed behind by burban in a field and put a little booter on the side of a highway overpass.

ill ski anytime i get the chance, unless like said in the begin. if its one giant ice rink, im ok with icey spots but when you cant get an edge the whole way down...

Hell yeah. Skiing is skiing, some is better than others, but you wont have fun if you complain. On the east coast its either icy or slushy and i will take slush any day.
