THE AESTIVATION PROJECT:
So.... It all started when Headbud Productions were just about to
finish their movie Prelude. We had all gathered into the beautiful
Karwendel to do the intro-shooting for that movie. The weather was
prefect and we had two super fun days. In the evening we where talking
about the future, and what kind of movie we wanted to do next. Sure
there had to be snow in it! Sure there has to be skiing in it!
But that was not the problem. We are skiers and snow will come as soon
as winter joins us.
Our major problem was that we didn’t have any cinematographers or
camera equipment. Till that moment all our movies were rider filmed and
rider edited.
One day, in the evening after we had been shooting for the intro, Nico
started telling us about his two friends Max and Mo Garhammer from
Broken Radio Films. We knew about these two guys and we knew that they
have been making skimovies for some years now. Nico knows them very
well and was always a main character in their movies, and he told us
that they want do a bigger european movie next year too...
So, we needed cinematographers and cameras, and they needed riders to shoot with.
One hand washes the other!
About a month later, Nico Zacek, Christoph „Taylor“ Thaler, Fabi Hyden
and Mo Garhammer met up at Nico’s place in Innsbruck, to talk about if
and how we could cooperate during the upcoming season. Mo already
worked out a concept for a movie called Aestivation. The more he was
telling us about this project the more we where stoked about it!
Finally everyone was down with the Aestivation movie project, and we started filming for the movie.
Even though the 07/08 season has been one of the worst for years now,
due to many injured riders and very bad snow conditions in the alps, we
finally did it!
The Aestivation movie is finished and everyone can enjoy it now. I
think with this movie we made a big step forward in the history of
European Ski Movies. Now we can be compared with the biggest names in
business. But thats not all. We also did the Aestivation B-Movie, which
shows our riders at events and trips in theme parts. So we did two cool
movies in one year, which shows, that the cooperation of these two
productions turned out very well.
In another meeting in the summer of 2008 we decided to keep working
together for the future years too, and keep the name from our first
cooperation.
Now, all future movie projects of Headbud Productions and Broken Radio Films will run under the name AESTIVATION.
We have a lot of plans for the upcoming seasons and hope that you guys
stay with us, support us and our sport as much as you can!
