SEARCH BAR!!!
But i will help. Boil some water, pour it in a jug of some sort, stick your poles in with the grips in the water, wait about 30 seconds to a minute, get some rubber gloves and pull those fuckers off. Then get a hacksaw or something that cuts metal fairly easy, and there you go!. =)

stick your poles inbetween a door, close the door as tight as you can, and pull and twist

to get them back on, spray the shafts with hair spray then jam the grips back on. this will lube the shafts when its first sprayed, then turn sticky to help hold the grips on when it dries

You guys are over complicating this waaaay too much.
1. Stick the grip in a doorway, have somebody lean on the other side of the door so that it is pinned between the door and the frame.
2. Pull and twist
3. Cut pole to desired length using hack saw
4. Put the grip back on the tip of the pole, turn the pole upside down, and bang it against the ground until it's back on
takes like 2 minutes...

turn your oven on broil, hold your poles in there for a mintue or so untill you can pull off the grips then bam they're off when you need to put em back on just push them back on. no heat gun needed.

use a hairdryer fuck boiling its too messy and takes too long and its easier than just stickin it in a door frame

how is using a hair dryer easier than using a door frame? Are you posting from the bathroom? Because if not, on your way to get the hair dryer, you could just use one of the doors you walked through...

Ok, here's the correct way...
1. Boil a large pot of water.
2. Stick the grip end into the boiling water for around a minute or so.
3. Remove the pole from the boiling water and dry it off with a towel, being ever so careful not to scald your hands.
4. Using the towel, in a twisting motion remove the grip.
Doorways, winches, all that nonsense is just extra work. Pole grips come off like butter this way.

Ya. also depending on what grips you have you might have to take the screw out. Some older poles have a screw in the top that holds them on. On Scotts though just get them warm and they pop off.
