Western Virginity

So i am taking my first trip out west in a week or so.  I am heading to Jackson Hole with my buddy.  I a born and raised eastern skiier.  I just want to know what to expect and stuff I should do/look out for.  Also what should I bring, Obviously outerware and skis but what other stuff.

Eh Jackson hole doesn't look like it has the nicest base. but you should expect that eastern skiing will never be the same.

get some avy gear and skins if youve got trekkers, they been getting pounded.  2 jackets if you have space.

Jackson's backcountry is kinda scary right now (or at least while i was there during christmas) cuz of the weird snowpack. alot of avalanches happened earlier this year so idk if the backcountry is safe right now but if it is hit that shit up.
in-bounds the alta chutes, tower three, and the toilet bowl are favorites of mine. the expert chutes are also great.
there is tons of good stuff all over the place, u shouldn't have trouble finding it.
the people are super nice too
as for what to bring, i'd bring what you'd normally bring on a ski trip (clothes for on and off the hill, toothbrush etc.) also it might be smart to invest in a backpack

it won't matter if the conditions are perfect or not.
won't matter if you get any powder.
the sheer size of the mountains, number and quality of runs, even the park will BLOW YOUR MIND.
