So, I was just looking for reviews on Stoked, but can't find any. Has anyone here played it yet? If so, what's your thoughts on the game? Is it as good as it looks or is it as bad as Shawn White?
Yeah, I am really liking it. Learning curve just right. I thought the controls were a bit limited, then my rider got better at the style of riding I as going for. Background mountains are awesome, the snow detail is ok. I think the over all carving could be smoother. But this game is hands down my fav 360 game, but I am not a big time gamer. Def woth the the cash. And it is way cheaper than standard 360 games. Off axis is a bit tough to land unless you go majorly inverted like for rodeos and stuff. The axis's actually remind me a bit of gnarshmallow.
my opinion get the game. don't buy shawn white. and always keep a copy of amped 2
yeah you can play it on 360. you just have to update the backward compatibility from xbox live, or burn it on a disc and update it from the xbox website.
Stoked does get better the more you play it. (your rider gets better, more tricks are possible.) and for 40 dollars its kicks the shit out of shawn white. It really is a backcountry oriented game, so if you don't really have a deep passion for the beauty of b.c. , i can see where it would be a bore.
if you want to give feedback about the game for possible patches and dlc, check out he devs website, bongfish.com/forum , hopefully any insight would lead to a even better stoked 2 if it is ever made.
what if he doesn't have xbox live? like his free subscription thing's expired and he hasn't bothered to update it so he can't play online etc. would it still work?
you can download the file to update it off the xboxlive website, then burn the file to disc, pop in the disc, and you are updated. You don't need an active account for it to work, or xbox live at all. In addition to burning the update, if he currently has xbox live, he should be able to download the update. The update is a list of classic xbox games that can be played on 360.
definately worth it.
you can find amped 2 for liek 2 dollars used at most game stops. i've bought that game like 8 times
my friend bought it and he said that its really good. According to him its alot more realistic and harder to throw down tricks. Ive never played amped so I cant really compare. But im definitly going to sell my shaun white to blockbuster/eb games and pick up stoked whenever i can
very sick, challenges are a bit repettve but just diff enough to keep you goin, wish it had the variety skate has in challenges but w/e. biggest bummer for me is customization, when you start out you have nothing for gear but crap, and you have to unlock everything. gameplay is a blast, and frustrating at the same time like some stuff is hard to stomp, but the feel you get is like real life like "yeah !! finally" after like 6 or 7 tries. the touches like weather and snow sticking when you fall are amazing additions as well that work beautifully. i say that if they add a terrain park mtn in the future and more charecter clothing options, this could be my fav game ever right up there with skate and skate 2. havent played for too long just this afternoon, but im hooked so far
im still debating to get it or not. i watched a video of someone playing and he did like straight seven and then went into a backflip... so those movements seem a bit unheard of
