The material will probably cost more than the actual labour, I can't remeber exactly but I think 1 inch round is about a dollar a foot, as for welding, try and find someone you know who welds who can do it for free, it shouldnt take long at all
But just look in the phone book and find a welder. most charge by the hour and it is fairly reasonable. I'm not sure what your location and situation is but look around for some metal. Go to a farm or dump or machine shop somewhere and ask and look around for pipe. New steel is going to be pretty expensive.
I just got a dfdfd for free from the park I work at... just saying it pays to look around and talk to people and you'll save yourself some monies.
Haha for real? Where do you get your steel?! Ordering steel in November and December made a part of me die a little bit on the inside, it was so damn expensive. But anyway, fabrication shops are all over the place. I had a rail bent and welded at an iron and boiler works shop once, any professional will do good work for a fairly cheap price.
Word man, that's so weird, maybe I ordered most of it before December, 'cause prices were definitely sky high whenever I ordered. Guess I should have waited, damn! Oh well, nothing like wasting the GM's money haha
ask whitebird.. he is on my friends list and he has done alot of welding and could probably give you an idea of cost and all that stuff ... he welded me a rail :-)
