Beginner Freestyle Setup?

So first off, I'm a fairly good, all-rounded skier with a high interest in park.  I am looking at 08/09 Line Invader (idk length, I'm 6'2" 170... friend said get 161's, but im leaning towards 171), either Salomon SPK's or Full Tilt Booters, and either Marker Jesters or px12 JIBs (prob the px12's because they're cheaper).  Do you guys think this should be a good park setup for sking 75% boxes and rails and 25% jumps?

look at disorderly's too, they are a bit stiffer than invaders, and are a symmetrical park twin. I have them and love them.

Fulltilts seem like really nice boots (I know they're narrow so no need to tell me), but why does every always throw around the word "fulltilt" on random questions? im new on Ns and i don't understand

you might want to get a stiffer tounge for the booters, it might be harder to ski a really soft boot in the park right off the bat. invaders are soo much fun, get 178s. watch out, theyre super buttery.

"lame" only is relitive to how many times you have posted in threads.... dont wory too much about your karma either, its normal that its low, it takes time, just keep on being a tru NSer!

and for the set up, I would go for the 171 and even more if I was you... your friends want you to buy snowblades almost, lol, whats up with that. if you can get an earlier model of the skis, maybe a year old or more if possible, you would save a lot of money and they didnt change anything to the ski if im not mistaken so your going to have the same thing with a different top sheet for cheaper

yeah bro listen to him. I was 6'0 when i got my first pair of park skis (invaders as well) and while they seem big at first, you're gonna wish you went 178.

it's great that you are getting into park, but as your first park setup you might want to get something that eases you into full park. Line invaders (which i have) are very park specific skis, and may not be the best option when you've skied a lot of other terrain, and are jumping into the park. Same with full tilt booters, they are an extremely soft boot, and might not end up being your personal preference.

All i am saying is that perhaps you might want to try out some stuff first, and if not buy something that doesn't lean extremely to the soft-jibbing side of things, especially if you are 6'2. For boots go to a bootfitter ,and talk about what will work best for you. It sucks ball having boots that don't fit.

178 Invaders, both those boots are nice so just go by best fit, Jesters and PX12 are not even similar so make sure you discuss that choice with a ski tech (preferably one who is unbiased and doesn't get advantage points or anything like that)

178 Invaders. b/c they are soft, a longer length will feel better on landings. Def NOT the 161, way too short for such a soft ski.
If you are concerned with them being too soft then the Anthems will be the ticket, or if you live where it snows often; Co, Utah, or anywhere that gets dumped on.

FullTilts> SPKs (I even own a pair of SPK Pros (love them) and Krypton Rampages(love them even more) )

Markers, but thats cause I'm a Marker guy. Also consider anything by Tyrolia, they are the most underrated binding out there. Anything light will do you you won't need anything with a DIN higher than 12 your first year in the park (for your height/weight/ski size)

Invaders are going to be way too soft for your weight plus 171 is too short for how tall you are. I'd look into first of all a ski in the 175-185 range. As for a ski I would recommend the Bluehouse MR in a 179. It's a bit more costly but I think it's a great ski and the wider under foot will give you a bit more for all-mountain. I would also go with the px12s. The jester is way too much binding for you and you're going to spend a lot of money on it.

As for boots, go get fitted, it's better to have a boot that fits YOU properly than a pair of full tilts or spks.
