Wierd damage to my skis

I have been riding my armada Ar6 pretty hard for the second season now and apart from all the chips and disgustingness you would expect from a ski breaking... I have one wierd damage which I have never seen before. my base has some sort of bubble on it. about 2 centimeters from my edge, my base has formed a solid ondulation which looks like a bubble. this obviously cant be good.... Im wondering if anybody can inform me on what the hell might have happened to my ski!

could it be any of the screws in your bindings coming through and pushing on the base from the inside?

this can happen from edge damage. Are any of your adges dented in? Another way it can happen is a core shot from the top. You have any of those?

When you crush those edges in it can push the base out.

also when waxing if you are on too high of a temp for the wax you are using, or if you let the iron sit on the base, those two things can also cause problems for the ski.

im guessing its a core shot where the water got in because I dont realy have edge damage at that spot

Yeah, this can happen if your ski takes a pretty hard hit to the edges.  Sometimes the damage to the edge itself in minimal, but there is probably a small dent there.

I have seen 'bubbles' under bases for a number of reasons... as mentioned already too hi a temp when waxing or repairing can detach the base and leave a bubble...or waxing a cold ski  - like in a garage too fast.......once a lady brought in her volants and there was a bubble right under the foot of the ski and the consensus was this was a manufacturing defect because she never abused her skis, the base maybe was never bonded properly.......another thing can be core damage under the base that eventually causes a spot de-lamination of the base..........or edge and water getting in / freezing / expanding ........

Armadas are usually well made and the AR6 has a park base so u got an interesting one here....how it happened isn't as important as does it affect performance and how to fix it....some of the guys thought of cutting out the ptex bubble in the volants and then seeing what was underneath and epoxying it back in or epoxy the bubble with a heedle.......but it was too much labour and and trouble for the shop to do it without knowing if they could even fix it...so the boss said move on..

wanna hear some bullshit that happened to my skis today? i was riding to the lift and there was a soda can split in half and it was sticking out the snow i didnt see it and my right ski just stopped, and i was like oh shit. i check my skis and there are lines going down the base, and there is lik3  3 strips where the base is sorta missing and one is right next to the edge hopefully they dont blow out.

get some p-tex into that pronto, not only will you not slow down but your going to prevent your edges from cracking or ripping off, or denting or all sorts of other damages

same thing happened to my brother's troublemakers last year, from a conglomeration of factors including edges being dented in and waxing when the ski was cold, because he is a dumbass.

its a fairly simple repair any shop should be able to fix it.  best way it to prick the bubble and use a syringe and inject epoxy in then compress the bubble with a metal plate and some c clamps, finish up with a base weld.
