Switch up HELP!!!

frontside and blindside are done very differently. 

on a frontside, pop onto the box or rail normally, but keep your shoulders facing towards the end of the jib, so you never turn sideways.  angle your leading ski up a bit so it is on the inside heel edge.  use this to grip the box and pull with your heel.  popping a tiny bit will give you the spin you need to change sides, once youve popped it around keep your shoulders turning back up towards the top of the box so you come out switch.

for a blind, i set it as i pop onto the rail.  turn your shoulders to your natural side as you pop on so that they want to face back up towards the top of the box, and keep your head turning so that its looking at the end of the box again.  the first couple times, you should keep your feet down and let yourself spin on the box.  after your comfortable with that, do the same shoulder turn when you pop on, but as yhou start to spin around just hop a little bit.  the most important thing to remember on a BS sw up is to turn your head so that you are looking back down at the end of the box, not your feet and not the beginning.

threads, switch ups have been evading me for most of the season. i had them early on but then stopped doing rails for a few weeks when we got some good snow and now i'm at square one it seems...

as for not falling off the left or right, the most likely explanation is that you're not turning the full 90 degrees when you're getting on. have someone watch you, they'll be able to tell immediately. i had the same problem for awhile, still do it sometimes.

so now, u try it, and someone will film u! then analyse the videos and compare to the good tips u got here! u will will immediatley see what ur doing wrong!

I found that for blindside switch ups, it's sooooo much easier if you do not ride up to the rail dead on. If you pop onto the rail from the side it's so much easier. For example. If your sliding right foot forward, approach the rail a little bit to the right of it.

For me personally it is easier to do a frontside switchup coming into the rail from the side. This is because when you come on from the side it is easier in setup in that you can set your front foot heel to be digging into the rail as you lock on. I also find it easier for me to do blindsides coming straight on because it seems more natural to keep spinning the way you came on. So just experiment a little with the different ways that you come on to the rail.
