wilmot mountain, the matterhorn of the midwest!
fly into general mitchell international airport in lovely milwaukee, and enjoy an hour of breathtaking scenery on your drive south on I94 to wilmot.
for lodging, check out nearby twin lakes. there is possibly still a motel or two right downtown, otherwise look for an abandoned house or garage and save money on lodging!
be sure to prepare for the sick vert and awesome expert terrain.

for apres ski head to the bar in the main lodge. if a man named bj is bartending, he will probably trade you beer for naked pictures.
also, try donovan's reef in downtown twin lakes, just stay away from the cottages behind the bar, or KC's cabin, just over the border in illinois.
dining options abound in the region, from the snack shack for breakfast and lunch to subway for dinner. on your way back to the airport, stop at sparti's at the converge of hwy 50 and I 94 and ask for your meal "greek style"
if you are taking a muti-day trip, consider visiting some of the other nearby resorts such as Grand Geneva (15 min) and Alpine Valley (30 min)
enjoy your time in rustic and historical SE wisconsin!
Save the plane tickets until there is actually good snow next year...... or go to Mt. Snow.....
or if you were really cool you would go to Summit at Snoqualmie in Washington
i grew up basically in wilmot and spent most of my youthful winters at the 'mot.
consequently i have this nostalgic love for the place which is nearly unexplainable.
