270s'?

my friends and i have a box rail that is 24" high and 16" wide i was wondering if this was good to learn 270s' on to. i learned switch ups on it but it is kinda a rail for noobs.

Just wondering what is a good way to learn 270s

yes, but judging from the pic in the other thread you guys should rebuild the jump.  make it about equal height as the rail, about a foot back, really mellow, and at least 5 feet wide from corner to corner.  this will help you 270 for sure more than the lip thats on there now

you need a good lip for a 270 on.  make it an inch or so higher than the rail, so you won't get caught on the edge of the box, incase you mess up a few times.

Thanks for the tips. We have to spend a few days doing landscaping this summer I'm thinking. In the meantime we will have to do with the limited amount of snow we have.

yeah our snow is super dry too so we always have to have lots of water but thanks for the tip

i shoveled all the snow off my drive way into trashcans to get the inrun/kicker perfect on our rail.
we have less snow than you do.
you should be able to make it work.

build a frame for your  jump out of plywood, then fill it with snow so you arent wasting any, a little snow goes a long way like this.  fill the fram and the pack the snow, then take the frame away, shape the lip perfectly, then water it.

You have any plans on how to build a plywood kicker? I took a 4x4 and cut like a 30 degree angle and put some plywood on it. It sort of works but its not perfect, seems like i have the angle wrong.

it just needs to be a 3 foot tall, 5 foot wide [ to hold snow when youre shoveling.  it looks like you have more than enough snow on the ground, just scrape the ground on either side of your drop in.  fill the [ with snow, then pack it down so that its level with the jib, then take the plywood away and shave youre lip to whatever shape you want, then pour a few gallons of water on the sides, top, and corners of your jump. 

to make the plywood thing id say take 1 piece of 5x3 plywood and 2 pieces of 3x4 plywood and fashion them into a C type shape with 2x4s on the outside.  the goal is to just make your lip as even across the top and through the transition as possible

Ok, i'm diggin it now. So its like a jig that you build the jump with. Not the jump itself. Yeah, that makes sense now.

That is the exact dimensions of a box that I started doing my 270s on/ Just started tryin them on friday, only thing is that its set up as a down box so i keep sliding out... I just have to remember to keep my weight forward I guess.
