How many of your hills have TECHNOLOGY?

This is sort of a pointless thread, just wondering how many hills have pillars at the beginning of lift lines to read your tickets instead of people with the little guns?  Because my local hill does, but no other resort I've been to has them.  I think it is both convenient and pretty smart from the resort standpoint.  Plus they read through the pocket.

yes, Tamarack does, Bogus doesnt. haha fucking Bogey Peaks. theyre still on a visual check, put a sticker on your pass system.

alta has a quad that makes a 30 degree turn in the middle of it.
also electronic ticketing
also they have a magic carpet that loads you onto one of the lifts
also they shoot giant bullets at surrounding mountains

everywhere in europe has those things, you either brush up against it or if you have a shitty day pass you have to put it in the machine, but way easier, then there's a turnstyle and you go through

that would be awesome for people who don't have passes cause they could just borrow a friends every time, i mean it happens enough as it is, but there wouldn't be any risk this way.

only the park at my hill has an automated gate, i dont think we really need one at the lifts where i ski.

im betting you ride mt high.

i personally think those turnstiles are a pain in the ass. you always end up having to hump the machine, and every so often they will say your ticket/pass is no good

Yeah I do lol

I find I don't have a problem with it, I just put the ticket in a breast pocket and it reads without me having to stop like 90% of the time.  But yeah they do break sometimes its happened once already this season.

My hill doesn't really check for tickets.. If you have to its to some guy who glimpses at it, BUT we have a magic carpet which brings you onto the chair

Spent the 07 season in Switzerland. Got a Swatch that had my pass in it. THE BALLS. Just swiped my wrist by the little sensor and I was on my way.

Guys look for it when you get on the lift where I ski. If they're cool and don't see it before the chair gets to you they just ask you to have it ready when you come back down. But if they're not so cool they stop the whole lift and make you pull your 600 dollar season pass out and show it to them. You then recieve a scolding about how it should be visible at all times even though the cheap ass string they give you to put it on falls apart.

haha last night me and these other kids got  bored and asked the head lifty if we could check passes and he was like whatever go ahead. and i ended up getting a meal voucher for finding someone without a ticket and 40 dollars for finding a fake paper season pass

at cat? Just hope you don't see that person again. One time the manager of my mountain asked to see my pass and hold it. He was a dick but I guess he was checking for that sort of thing.

yeah like they already caught like three of them and it was a big group of college kids, so over the radio they said "check and feel all season passes and employee passes". so one person pulled out there midweek/ saturday night pass still in there wallet and i was like take it out. and i took it and handed him over to another lifty and went and collected my 40 bones

we got  'saftey rangers' checkin ours at 7 springs.  once they get to know you they stop askin tho.  word is we get the scanners next season.

We got androids checking passes. they look realy human but they are programmed to be retarded douche bags. they always scan my pass with their eyes on days when its invalid and they still let me go, thinking its the right one. After like a week of lapping the park, these androids remember you and sometimes even become fonde of you.... yes they even have emotions! beat that europe!

ours have the pillars but they broke cause it got really cold then really warm so there was ice/rain and that fucked up the system so now they dont really use it all the time
