that or I sometimes ask if this is their local hill if I haven't seen them before. Or ask if they were there when the lift we are on broke down and ski patrol had to do an emergency chair evac., that soemtimes gets a funny reaction.

funny story.
my two friends and i were going up the quad and this othe guy was with us
my friend (emmett) on the opposite side of the random dude says " matching skisuits are gay" then my other friend says emmett look. turns out the dude was wearing a suit. then emmett adds " ummm only camo ones though"

I read an article about riding doubles... One of the people in it asked for most awkward sex stories and either made one up of used one from the last person that they rode up with.

But I guess that's fake and unreal... so ask a deep question or where they're from. I just keep my music going.

put the bar down without asking - don't say a word and keep you skis on the rest till the last possible second and freak them out
and if they look like real noobs tell made up stories about being stuck on the lift for hours that always end with I almost lost my toe and all I got was a cup of hot coco.

I have the original JO Pros (the pair with the blonde twins). When riding the lift, people usually stare at the skis for a good while, really taking it in. When they look up, I usually start the conversation with, "Yeah, the one on the tip is my girlfriend." and then blankly state back at them.

HAHAHAHA. If you own these skis, try it. It's hilarious.

There was a guy in front of me in the lift line at Keystone. I said, "Hey! Sweet twins!" He looks at my skis (SIlencers) and says, "Yeah, you too." I give him a quirky look like "Did he get it?".

Five minutes later and halfway up the mountain he turns around and yells to me... "OH! SWEET TWINS!"

I just said, "YEAAAAAHHHH!"

So funny.

i usually go for the more normal approach.
if i can tell that they ski and not a gaper i usually ask where theyve been skiing and such
or if they are listening to music what they got on.
or if its any hot chick ill just start talking to them about them, always gets them, and am always sure to drop my name in there and try to get theres.

Usually in the lift line right before I get on the chair I can get a good feel for what kind of unsuspecting tourist I have the pleasure of riding up with.  My favorite thing is when I know they are the kind of person who is gonna put the bar down right away, I lean forword to unbuckle my boots or something so that the bar will kinda hit me on the helmet before they see what I  am doing.  Then I freak out on em with a WHAT THE FUCK MAN? CANT YOU WAIT A SEC BEFORE PUTTING THE BAR DOWN? It makes them feel really uncomfortable and awkword and usually silences them after they say the classic oh im sorry.  Then me and my buds with talk about how people from wherever this guy is obviosly from are fuckin gay and retarded.  Its definitly the best one to pull on queebecers.
