Skullcandy Sucks

In the four months i've been been using Skullcandy i have had some pretty mixed views of this company. I was at first i was impressed with their earbuds. i had the Smokin' Buds and they sounded, fit and looked great...untill they died from four months of moderate use. Bullshit i say. I'm suposed to pay 50% every few months from when they die from cheap construction. But the Smokin' buds havn't been my only encounter with skullcandy. I also have a pair of Double Agent Headphones, which came with a broken memory card. The card only holds a song or two and the music played off the cards is extremely fuzzy. So I sit on hold for 40 minutes to replace a memory card so blatantly emblazed by the Skullcandy logo, only to be told that it has to replaced by the company that makes the card, not the company that puts its logo and brand name on the card. In the mean time i try using the cord that connects to the headphones, but it doesn't stay in the headphone, it falls out when you move the cord, and the sound quality is also fuzzy from certain songs on my iPod. So its back to wading through thier crappy costomer service. All in all i'm done with skullcandy foreever,

Skullcandy=cheap quality, bad customer service
(i will admit they look sick though)

realy... skullcandy sucks! what a suprise, I thought after all of the threads of people hating on them, that they were good.

jokes asside, I agree they are balls, mine broke but I didnt bother getting new ones cuz they suck and I got them for free so what ever

I havent had to pay 50% ever. they are cheaply made but I think that they are worth it, lifetime warranty. They are slow with warranties but I think its worth it.

I have: Skullcrushers, smokin buds, icons, and full metal jackets.

from what i hear skullcandy is really hit and miss with their product, ive heard stories where peoples headphones have held up great but others have had theirs last less than a week.

i cant wait for the icon 2s, the way jimbo bent them in the video solves the problem of my big head cracking the headphones

Skullcandy's quality isnt great but I paid like $13 dollars for my icons at tj maxx and there arent any headphones that will fit like them or stay on like them for that price. If you want quality sound and reliability I wouldnt go with skullcandy but for skiing I havent found anything better. That really sucks that you have had those problems with their stuff. My friend has the smokin buds for working out and snowboarding and hasnt had a problem yet. I guess it's kinda hit or miss with them.

until a company comes along and can make icons for $10 and better quality, Ill stick with skullcandy..

off the hill head phones are sony however..

yeah the icons i think would be the only headhone i'd ever get from skullcandy again. and i'd only get em if they were super cheap

I have to admit, the construction of them are pretty weak...I've had lowriders since June, and they work great...except they broke when I stretched them to put on my head (and I have a tiny head) right where the expander piece fits inside the headband.  I warrantied them, no problem...then they sent me back a purple pair (I sent them the silver/white ones)...so I went and switched them at a local HMV.  Then the new pair broke in the exact spot, two months later...haha.  I rode with them fine, only doing the easiest shit (putting them on) did they break.

But that being said, they sound great, they look great, and seeing how much they are putting back into the sport, holding it down and all, I'll get them again...at least they do good warranties...(although the service sucks haha).

I still love you skullcandy (I know Jimbo is going to read this...)

Plus next year's Icon looks bombproof all rubber and shit on the headband...so dope!

ive gone through so many pairs of skullcandys, and its never my fault but i always end up having to pay half price. with all tht money ive spent i could have picked up a bomb pair of sonys tht i know would last

If you are looking for a good pair of in-ear headphones, I have been abusing the Bose ones since October and other than the sickening feeling of paying $90 for a par of in-ear headphones to wear at the gym and while skiing, I have loved them.  Great sound quality, ear rattling volume, and those little gummy things that come in 3 sizes, so as to fit every size ear as well as the Larges fit mine. Say goodbye to your headphones falling out, and hello to Bose.

Cliff Notes: Suck it up, throw down the $90, and buy Bose in-ear headphones.

Got a pair of Smokin' Buds a few weeks ago... agree. They suck.

A guy tried to tell me that @ one of those Airport Headphone places - he had me try on a pair of SHURE earbuds that ring about $100 - told me pay for quality, not the "cool" name.

Guess what, he was right.

ive got the smokin buds, icons, and the heshes and they all work great, and i broke my heshes and they sent me 1/2 off pair that work perfect, so i think its just un lucky

Icons are cheap and I got smokin buds for free with a pair of jeans and they're both decent and my buds have lasted almost a year now.  And I used them for my music production class so they got used pretty heavily.

Lifetime warranty.  I live in PC and just roll down to skullcandy HQ.  They have replaced 2 sets of headphones no questions asked.

smokig buds are the cheapest ones they make.. you cant expect them to be indestructable... skullcandy is legit.. i have full metal jacket, lowriders and icon.. i had Gi's but those snapped and i got my money back..

I had the low rider and they broke. so i sent them back and after a few weeks i called them ,because i didn't get a response or new headphones,  and they said they would trust me. so i got a new pair of them for free.

sounds to me like the problem is that all of you have paid for the cheap shitty models, if you want a quality headphone get the hesh or ti (icons are extremely cheap why would expect them to be good?) they arent the best thing youve ever heard but mine have been consistent and solid for over a year

Its not bad to pair for skullcandies, but to expect anything more from them then good active listining devices is LOL worthy. And Ive broken 2 pairs and gotten brand new ones, Im not gonna complain but you gotta realize theyre no sennheisers

Skull candy sucks period. They are not quality headphones and u shouldn't waist your money or time. Go to best buy and get a pair of good headphones like: Sony SHURE, Bose in ear, monster jamz or lil jamz, my highest recommendation for in ear headphonesthough would be klipsch s4 in ear headphones, they r simply awesome can't b beat. They are 80 bucks, super durable and have the same sound quality of a 500 dollar pair of headphones and I am not exaggerating, GET THEM!!! I can't say anything bad about them if anyone has headphone questions pm me I know a lot about them
