In case you didn't know, it was in the PIPE.  I think it's already been said, but just to clear up any confusion.  Not the direction I'd like to see skiing go, but it's a pretty rad accomplishment for him.

although im not a huge fan of spin to win, a 1620 in the pipe is pretty damn impressive, and walt throws other really steezy stuff anyways

as for zeros and 1s, that is excessive in exactly the opposite direction of 1620s and 1800s
but it kills almost any innovation

First of all, STOP TELLING PEOPLE WHAT TO DO. Nobody said you have to go do it did they?

And secondly, ten years ago steezy spins stopped at about 720, and anything more was just plain hucking. But now you have Schiller and tons of others who can do switch 1080s with sick style and a grab the entire time. Of course a 1620 isnt going to be the styliest trick when it is just being learned, but give it time and you never know how good somebody might be able to make it look.

If you don't want to do it, then don't, but don't go bitching out people for doing their own thing, or trying something new.

This kid has a very interesting future ahead of him. I think that the future of 22 foot pipe comp seems very interesting. Bigger airs + spins less hucked. Just try to imagine that trick in a 18 foot pipe, it would have been very sketchy but it wasn't that bad.

i disagree, because he's done lots of those before, as have countless other skiers, just as big
although that was hucked, it was clean, its never been done before, and he stomped it first try

Damn dude, I never really thought of it (cause I'm definitely a style over spinning guy) but you're bang on with that.  Just think if that's true in a few years all us dinos spinning a 9 will look like 180's to all the little shredders tossing 1620s and 543902s all day...

...shit's gunna be like living Gnarshmallow hahahaha...christ, I hope it never really comes to that!

going huge with spins over 12 in the pipe looks sick. in, fact i think it looks better without the grab. sure, it looks like aerials, but what's so bad about that? i like to see raw spinning with vintage pencil steeze. tanner's double backs in the park are fun to watch for the same reason.

That's is pretty sweet in that it looks no more hucked than any 12 I have seen in pipe and if he can throw a full spin beyond 12 I would think he is that much closer to putting a good grab in a 12.

It's impressive but I think anything over 1440 is kind of rediculous.  When it gets to the point where you need to start counting the rotations and can't just tell then it's too much.

Thank you for adding that. Sometimes it can be fun to just spin like mad. I agree that skiing shouldn't go towards aerials or w/e, and style>spinning/hucking but skiing SHOULD go towards having more fun, regardless of what people are doing.
