It was down for new hardware to be added

ya i read it... but i don't understand how hardware can be added to a website...

Well... you see the website runs off of big fancy computers that are stored at a hosting company.    Just like any computer, you can add hardware, or transfer what computer the site is running off of. 

In this case, we changed which hosting company we were using, and moved the site from one set of computers to another.   These new computers were much more suited to our needs, allowing us to tweak the site for speed and maintain a higher level of control of the backend. 

So to you guys, you don't notice anything... the sign of a successful move is when you see the maintenance thing for a few hours, and then blam the site is back like nothing ever happened. 

In the meantime Paul is going crazy behind the scenes copying, upgrading tweaking, etc... then watching like a hawk to make sure there aren't any errors.   So please feel free to report anything weird you see! 

All in all though, we're very happy with how this went.   Very well executed by Paul, and in our new home we're much happier and things are how we want them to be.
