Well i have always been a huge phone guy.  I had a new phone atleast every 6 months.  After i got a iphone unlocked for tmobile i havent wanted anything else.  I have had it for over a year and its the best thing in the world i never put it down.  The app store is the best thing on this planet and you can hack so you get all the apps for free. IPHONE IS A MUST BUY.

you do realize most phones also have this magical tell you where you are thingy called gps and have had it for a while.

Personally, I would much rather have a cheap phone and then my ipod touch. iphone plans are a fucking rip off and I have yet to meet someone with an iphone that I didn't want to punch in the face.

definitely worth it.  There are 15,000 apps now.  Granted most of them our useless, but the fact that you can search for anything and an app exists for it  makes the device worthwhile.  Plus the next firmware update will apparently include flash support for websites which means streaming video off any website... which means a lot.  I've heard rumors of an A2DP firmware update too, which would really be useful...

haha the storm is in no way shit. it was just released and with the new OS upgrades is a beast. as soon as it's app store it will be as good as the iphone in every way, if not better.

i like mine alot, its an extension of my laptop, music whereever i go, email where ever i go, pretty decent camera, and i like how it displays your text messages

the iphone/touch OS sucks big time compared to blackberry/windows mobile. The only advantage apple has is with their hardware. They limit so much of the performance and usability, i mean it has a hard drive you can't access and no file browsing? Give me a fucking break. not to mention all the "applications" have to comply to their ridiculous standards. They don't let anything try to compete with their own apps because they know they would be much better.

the addition of flash will be very nice tho, that's another thing it's seriously lacking.

The standards are so open, especially compared to how they were in the beginning. Very few apps have been rejected and actually you can browse files if you know what you are doing. Its true that they do not allow any apps that overlap with previous apple applications, mail system etc. Its bullshit I agree, but it makes such an infinitesimal difference, hardly breaks the phone that there arent 500 mail apps floating around~

Dad has had a few Blackberry's, girlfriend has the Iphone.  I hate the Blackberry.  Of course everyone who doesn't have one has an opinion on here...most of whom have never owned one (not used your friends for a second, I mean actually had it for a month or two to use it daily instead of sounding like an idiot when you voice your ignorant opinion)

Windows mobile is a fucking abortion. The iPhone OS is excellent, especially for a first generation mobile OS. Windows Mobile is on 6 and it fucking suuuuucks. I haven't used a blackberry enough to really comment, but from what I can tell, its not nearly as useable as an iPhone. An iPhones advantage is its software. There are already over 15,000 apps in the app store, most of them are garbage, but plenty are good, and some are extraordinary. Not having a multitasking OS is a bit of a hassle, and hopefully the push notifications helps that out, but multitasking will come once someone can figure out how to get decent battery life from a phone that powerful thats running 5 apps at a time. Using an iPhone is intuitive, and even fun. Using Windows Mobile is like rolling around in a pile of salt after falling off a motorcycle naked.

IMO if you are big on texting dont get it, keep your phone and get an ipod touch.  people just make a big fuss about the iphone because it has all the fancy do-things in it.  the ipod is now the exact as the iphone except for the phone part, so just get an ipod for all the apps.  And for texting wise,  i find it hard to get  into the flow for texting on the iphone.
