i currently am 17 and have my own lawn business which i have run for the past 4 year its going well considering i work at a wage of $30 a hour and only work 12 hours a week. (last year) In last year i made about $6000 and i enjoy it cause its great money, last mower i had was a 22 inch briggs and stratton which i ran to the ground with over 300 hours of work in 1 summer. ( i found the mower in the trash with a ruptured gas tank and had to fixed to new by a mechanic) im hopeing to expand my buisness and purchase a new mower this year or used. now then i am going to college in 2 summers, so the mower will have to able to be handled by my sister or an apprentice during the months of april-may and sept-nov well i am at school. i want a 36in walk behind because its small and offers manueverablitiy in the small 1/2 acre lawns i do. i need some opinions on what to buy, want to get cheap around 700 willing to dip to 1000. please comment and help me alot so i can progress.
side notes
7-10 lawns per week last year
25-30 dollars a lawn
apprentice will be about 13
looking for around 36 not much bigger cause for now i will be walking to jobs, or riding if i get a deck to stand on
walk behind prefered definately
hints on a good weed wacker?
Thanks

hey man,
I used to work at sears in the lawn and garden department up until may last year. When i was there we used to have a 33" walk behind with i believe a 10.5HP briggs and stratton for around $1000. It might be a little smaller than what you were looking for but shit gets the job done. If you want to find a good one cheaper than that look on craigslist or something like that, people just want to buy new things all the time and you can usually buy shit locally for cheap.
pm me with questions about the mower. I worked there for a year so i know a shit ton about them

i have the same kind of thing going just with more lawns and more money. I have a stihl weed wacker and blower, they were expensive but they work great as for a mower i like toro's

you can run sears into the ground. mine has over 2000 hours on it and besides basic maintanence its been no big problem
bite the bullet and buy a stihl weedeater.

yea but idk im aiming for 15 lawns which is a ton, since its just me working.
but 33 is good, but im really not looking to spend over 700 on it ive been checking craigslist tho, and stihl is the weed wacker im lookn at, my friend whos brother is probably a millionaire at 24 has some dope stuff like 60" ride ons.

I also have a businees in the summer. Two summers ago I bought a Honda mower and it awesome. For the Craftsman mower i was looking into it, check out Sears website and read reviews about it. Many friend has a big Husqvarna walk behind that he got off craigslist and hast had any problems with it. For weedwhackers Id recomend husqvarna. I have both a stick edger and a weed whacker from them. Just dont skimp on it and regret it. Save up and get what you really want and will have less problems with.

husqvarna makes all craftsman stuff now by the way. but you want to look at who makes the motor mostly. Briggs are awesome and last forever with maintenance, hondas run pretty much like their cars, they get the job done. reading reviews are key man i can tell you everything that you need to know mechanically but i dont have all the mowers, so you gotta read what people that have them say. do some research on whatevrer you buy.

15 lawns isn't that much man....
My buddy used to have a landscaping company...yes, he had a truck and another employee, and their bodies were pumped full of redbull but they would smoke 30 lawns a day...insanely efficient.
