Whats everyone think of these...can finally change from an all mountain ski to a park ski with just a screwdriver

I think it's a great idea. I am still a little wary of Marker due to some nasty pre releases I've had, however the royal family series of bindings seems to be very different from anything else they have made.

I might check it out at some point in the next couple seasons, however  I am happy with having a quiver for the time being.

not to bump an old thread, but has anyone tried these yet?
im really interested in putting these on a pair of bents next year and want some more info.

seems like a good idea, and the griffon/jester series is great so far, i just dont want it to turn out like the line reactor bindings...

I just mounted the Jester Schizo on my Icelantic nomad sft skies yesterday. im going to try them this weekend. i will write my opinion about them next week.

now can you have 1 pair of bindings and switch between two skis? thats the one thing i liked about the reactor binding. its more about switching from ski to ski for me than it is switching mounting position

Is that orange? I thought they will have red..

But I also see some other weird things.. Some schizo bindings have connected heel and toe pieces, but others dont? or are there also marker demo bindings that dont have connected heel and toe pieces like in the pic above?? I'm still not shure what ski's I'm gonna get next year but might get these bindings..

the heelpiece and toepiece are connected so the binding system can move from freeride to park (traditional to centerish) evenly.

Yeah dude, very good.. i'd know that..

But i've also seen other marker bindings that can be changed.. but they didnt have the connection between the toe and heelpiece.. saw it on a french film on youtube where they were testing next years k2 kung fujas and obsethed.. but again, maybe those i saw where marker demo bindings?

I'm embarrassed to share, but has anyone else  been "raped" by their own binding?  The ''boner" heel piece of the jester/griffon bindings are really quite pointy and if you should happen to land backseat and wipeout, it can be quite unpleasant.  Anyone else?  Lets share our stories and learn from eachother so that such tragedies may become less common.  lol

Early in March the K2 rep came to my mountain's demo day and I tried the Schizo.  It was really cool.  I skied some fresh with them back and went with them moved forward for the park, it was awesome.  Oh, by the way, I tried them on the Kung Fujas.  He said the way it's designed, it is much harder to rip the bindings out of the ski because the plate the bindings rest on is built into the ski, making it nearly impossible to rip out.  That also means the newb that said he put them on his Icelantic Nomads is full of shit.  This technology truly does help and just to confirm, you CANNOT switch bindings with skis like the Reactor.  Why the hate on the Royal Family stuff, it does hurt to land backseat but they are far better than any other bindings out there right now.

It doesn't take long at all.  Just go down to the base, or carry like a swiss army knife, grab a screwdriver from the tech shop or your bag and take 5 mins. max to adjust them for park or pow.  The Schizo only adds an ounce or two per binding, so you won't feel any differences.

If I had to guess it would be 5-6-7cm.  5 or 6 is more likely.  It's been a while since I used them and I only used them for 2 hours but 5-6 cm would be my guess.  It makes a huge difference though, so genius. 

This doesn't apply to the person I'm quoting.  I would not cough up the extra cash for this tech on a Hellbent.  I would only spend it on a Kung Fujas or Obsethed.  You do not need this type of all mtn. adjustability on a Hellbent.  Even the rep said the $100-$200 more that this would cost on the Hellbent is pointless.  I only use my Hellbents on pow days so I don't need to move the bindings around and if I were to use them in park, they are already core center.  So I'm set.

Thing is, on SOME of the new K2s you can get the schizo INSERTS already in the skis, and thus be at an advantage. And technically, if you had the right screw, you could set it up in any pair of skis you want. And it comes with a plastic screwdrivery kind  of thing for easy adjusts, which i'm pretty certain has a rane of 6 cm.

they move + or - 3 cm from centre
thats a total of 6cm
if u mount them frontal position on the centre line for the park .... you will be able to move them 6 cm behind centre and shred the gnar gnar :P
im planning on getting them this weekend and im gunna throw them on 2010 suspects (181cm long)
what do you guys think of that
