Hey all, I've been around a long time but rarely post/visit so forgive me if I don't know the names of those I should be directing this to.
I know there's a good amount of PNSers on here and I'm assuming a few managers/owners/relatives that I'm sure could help me out with this request:
Please, please, please let some section, no matter how small, of Center bump up into a decent line. I've been riding at PNS after being transferred to the area 12 years ago and I've been praying for the day that there is a decent zip line or bump field that hangs around for longer than a day there.
I know most of you are interested in park, and that's cool, so am I. But please remember where the roots of freestyle came from; moguls. Not only do I think it would be great to let a small lane bump up on Center for those of us who beg to ski them, but also I believe it would be good for a lot of the patrons out there to see what a bump run looks like, and more importantly, learn how to ski one.
Furthermore, I would love to see a bump comp held, possibly during spring carnival, ala Boston Mills and other regional resorts. The positioning, and entertainment value would be great if held on Center for something like this.
Yes, I know there has recently been some man made 'bumps' in the flats by the skier-x course between Center and Tuff Enough, and I appreciate that. However, as much as this is appreciated, surely you can see that there is no pitch to the run, and unfortunately being manmade as opposed to created by people making turns, that these ski more like whoop-de-doos or rollers.
While I realize that moguls sporadically form on Showtime and in Hollywood, they can hardly be called a bump run. Again, I appreciate this terrain as well.
I made a similar email request to PNS about 10 years ago well before the park was around and got a nice reply that went something like this: We would love to allow moguls to form on Center, however when patrons come to PNS, the one thing they want to say is "I skied Center Stage", and if we allowed moguls to form this would prevent those patrons from doing so.
To this I politely responded with, "I can appreciate you wanting the best customer experience for your patrons. However, Center is, by local standards, an expert run. Shouldn't you allow it to be naturally enjoyed by expert skiers, if only a small section? In addition, is it wise to enable beginners to challenge themselves on your most difficult slope?
I never received a response and went back to wishful thinking.
Please take my request in the best possible way. I apreciate simply having PNS nearby to ski, and enjoy everything the resort has done over the past 12 years to better iself and the terrain. I am just asking for your thoughts and consideration to let a small section of a run with great pitch and exposure to naturally bump up.
Feel free to PM me with anything you dont want to post here, or say hi if you see me out there. Green and white jacket, black CR Labs.
Thanks again for listening.
