Where to get a box for shipping skis?

So i went to my local post office today to get some skis shipped. Only problem was that to my dismay and confusion they did not have any boxes that were big enough for skis. The skis orginally came in a box so i know they make them but how can a post office which deals with shipping items not have multiple box shapes and sizes.

Cliff Notes: i need to know where i can go and purchase  a box to put my skis in so they can be shipped.

You should try a local ski shop or something. That is where I got a box for shipping boots, and my buddy got a box for skis. We didn't have to pay a penny.

if you have some cardboard boxes laying around, like small ones, you can cut them up and wrap it around the skis...its not pretty but with a little bubblewrap between the skis and cardboard, it would get the job done

^ yep, that works just fine (done it several times). just don't forget about the bubble wrap, specially if you are shipping skis w/bindings.

Golfing shops too, they get clubs and other long stuff shipped to them, and if you have really long skis you can piece together 2 boxes.

Go to a U-Line store and purchase a telescoping box.

go to a fed ex kinkos, or a ups store and ship it out there, they have all box sizes

Depending on how long the skis you have are...you could quite possibly ship them in a Hockey stick box. A couple of years ago when my skis got shipped to me they came in a TPS hockey stick box. They have em at most major sporting goods stores
