Best Park in Canadian Rockies?

Hmm ok, does Fernie even have a park this year? I was checking out their website, but all they have listed is a rail park.

i dont know but sunshine has al their shit set up and theres still more features their building

I went to Fernie last reading week (Canadian spring break) and they didn't even have a rail park. RCR banished parks from all of their mountains.

Well, in the Rockies you don't have much of an option. RCR (Resorts of the Canadian Rockies) has a stranglehold on the Rockies and why won't let go. RCR took all their pipes and jumps out of their parks. so Fernie, Kimberly (not really in the Rockies, but you probably don't know any better), and Nakiska just have shitty rail parks that you have to pay to play (not worth it). Sunshine has a park with rails, jumps, and pipe - worth checking out for sure. The Lake got bought back by Locke so it will have a park again, but I'm not sure how big their jumps are this season. I'd say Sunshine is probably your best bet in the Rockies (or look into Marmot Basin... I don't really have any info on that place, but it might be worth a look.


(I'm a stickler so Kimberly, Panorama, and Kicking Horse are not mentioned here because they aren't in the Rockies but actually in the Purcell's).

I am also interested in where the best places to ride park would be. I might be heading up there from Montana to hit Kicking Horse and stopping at places on the way to hit up some park.

Sunshine doesn't have a pipe.

It is a sick park though, Good sized jumps, tons of jib options, lots of mountain to explore.
YOu could also check out Norquay, they have a fun but small park.
Panorama is supposed to have a ridiculous park this season, they have spent a lot of money to get more people out there. So it is something to check out.
COP in Calgary is pretty world class. Huge super pipe, decent jumps, decent jib and rail options. But tons of  spoiled kids complaining about how shitty it is. little fuckers.
If youre going farther west, big white has a sick park too.

Fernie and Kimberly are in the rockies, but dont really have much for 'park' if you want awesome places to shred, those work. Castle has a little park that is fun, and if it snows fuck there is so much to do.

Lake Louise has a new park this year, they spent tons on rails and jibs last season when they took out the jumps, but jumps are back this season, and it is a huge mountain to go shred if the park is in bad shape.

I recommend sunshine, they have a sick park this season times ten, there is an actual park crew shaping and fixing all day long. the lower park is lookin pretty intense considering what were used to, but looks super good and super duper fun.

Nakiska doesnt have even have any features this year, so def dont go there. Kimberley has a few..but nothing really too exciting. Louise's park is in a good place because you can ski down the front side, and then you can hit the park on the way back to the chair. The continental lift at sunshine fucks you in the ass.

I went to louise over the christmas break break and all they head was a few rails and boxes. They were starting to build some jumps but they were tiny

If you want just park, COP for sure!!! But Lake Louise isn't bad now either, I know a guy that double backflipped one of the jumps....

Sunshine or COP would be your best bet for parks. Sunshine brought back there park and ive heard its pretty dec this year. COP is little but their park is def always sick. I know Fernie has a rail park this year but you have to buy a park pass to get in. At Castle we got a fun little park set up going, nothin too big tho, but still not bad. But thats about all i know of, hopefully it helped you out

No... when did I say that? I just would like to hit up a mountain with a nice terrain park as well. Hence the reason I ride Chronics, for the all mountain experiance.
