I mainly stick toSquaw/Alpine and my decision where to ski is usually based on the conditions.
Squaw has the mostchallenging terrain for sure and on a powder day is unreal. Definitely amust ski while you are in tahoe. Due to the amount of people skiing andthe majority of terrain being lift accessible it tends to get tracked out a bitquicker than most of the other mountains.
Alpine has a lot ofhikes and if you are willing to put in the work you can get in some good runsdays after a storm. Unless its dumping I usually won't pay the extramoney for squaw.
I'll hit up Homewood ifit's a huge storm day and both Squaw and Alpines lifts are on wind hold. The mountain is flat, has ok woods, but if its all that’s open its prettycheap and worth it.
I hit up Rose a coupleweekends ago for the first time because it was raining at the base of alpineand squaw. It's the highest mountain, so it got somepretty good snow when the rest got a mix. It was a pretty cool mountainwith a bunch of mellow tree runs, but unfortunately their challenging stuff(the shoots) hasn’t been open this year,
Yo Mozzy!
K Wood is sick, no doubt, but both mt rose and mammoth have a higher base
my list goes like this:
Squaw, Kirkwood, Alpine... boreal and the star are sick for jibs.
