my first try on a backflip on a 15 ft jump i landed on my head but luckily i was wearing a helmet
best advice so far.
Most important thing is to pick out a good jump your feeling and just work that jump all day. Get all your spins down and just feel super comfortable in the air on that jump.
I would definitly suggest trying a cork before your first backflip and definitly be able to spin pretty well, at least fives if not sevens. Corks might be harder to land but they are a lot less risky.
Find a jump with a steep enough take-off and moderate to small sized table. A jump that is good for fives should be good for a backflip.
When you throw the spin, initiate with your arms, jump up, push your hips to the sky, look back, tuck your knees, and don't stop looking back. The most important thing is getting your body, to move as one unit. Don't let your legs hang mid-air. Fully commit to the rotation or your fucked.
Honestly you should not be nervous when you drop in to throw a backflip. If your out of your comfort zone, don't do it, because thats when you can freeze and fuck up.
Also definitly think about how it would feel to do the trick in first and third person, like what your would see.
AND FILM IT, YOU DON"T WANT TO NOT HAVE YOUR FIRST BACKY ON FILM
all the people are talking about those "backflips". i guess theyre a nice trick, but i dont think theyre possible.
no serious, i never saw anyone fucked up after a back. i only remember a lot of "WHAT? that was it????"-faces.
