Stress Cracks from Mounting?

I had my Bindings mounted to my PE, and there is a Stress Crack on the ski right down the middle of it. Is it normal to get a stress crack just from mounting. Should I be worried, or is this crack no big deal?

That should not happen just from mounting. I would be taking it back to where you had it done, and have them replace the ski, But thats just me!

^What he said... that's bullshit, I can't believe how shoddy that ski is, cause I can't believe they could be incompetent enough to put a crack in the ski from mounting it. It's gotta be a manufacturing problem.

Arggghhh... does it actually effect the performance of the ski or just the looks. I'm supposed to have a weekend skiing trip in 2 weeks, and really want my new skis for then.

It will kinda effect you once your binding gets riped from the ski.

do not ski on them caus eyou will lose any credibility that it was the shop that put the crack in them.

Take 'em back. They probably torqued the screws down so tight that it drew up the sides of the ski into a very shallow 'U' shape, thus stressing the center of the ski. Whatever it is, it's BS. If they can't replace it before your trip, take it to them, show them the problem, make sure that the manager knows about it, and pray they don't blow up in the middle of your trip.
